Kierjohn Posted November 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2018 Uy Scuti is generally seen as the biggest known star in the universe but what are the chances of there being stars that we haven't discovered yet in other galaxies such as the Andromeda galaxy etc that dwarf UY Scuti just like it dwarfs our sun? UY Scuti is (by Wikipedia) 7 to 10 Solar masses. For comparison, Pismis 24-1 is (again, by Wikipedia) 74 Solar mass. There are many which are more massive than Pismis 24-1.
