This thread is devoted to when our favorite independent artists unite across bands, continents and genres, and makes a unique contribution to music.

To show exactly what I mean, I'll start with Macca and Jacko

David Bowie made two very memorable duets.

David Bowie & Queen

(The distinctive bass of this song was later used by Vanilla Ice, but that turned out to be a mistake...)

David Bowie and Mick (Rolling Stones) Jagger

Sisters are doing it for themselves!

Annie (Eurythmics) Lennox & Aretha Franklin are telling us that women are a force of their own

If they had all consistently believed in that, maybe we could have avoided #MeToo

Is that a duet, or did you mean to put it in the hard rock thread? :D

I am normally not a fan of Kid Rock, but I like this song he recorded with Sheryl Crow.

I guess since there's actually just one main vocal on Magnet and Steel- that other vocal's are 'background'- the song isn't actually a 'duet'...Annnyway...

Here's a duet I've always liked a lot and incidentally, also features Stevie Nicks.

If there's a guest singer, like Shannon Hoon in Don't Cry (above), I think it qualifies as a duet. At least in this thread :tu:

I put this in the 80's thread. But it also belongs here.

Voted by VH1 viewers as the best Xmas song ever.
