Juergen Hepke has provided a potential map of Tartessos-Atlantis ca 1300 BC (i.e. shortly before a 1200 BC tsunami wiped out this society that was headquartered near modern day Puerto Santa Maria, and had led the cultures in southern Spain during 1500-1300 BC.

An actual map of the modern region, with the features of Tartessus-Atlantis superimposed, is below:

And this very famous image appearing on coins and artwork for hundreds of years over thousands of miles in uniquely tied to Atlantis how, exactly?

It’s a bit like finding a cross and claiming it’s proof of New York City.

Irrelevant.Comparatives:

1) The "owl's head" symbology, and the directional facing of the symbology, when utilized on the grips of Iver Johnson side-arms, presented a distinct differention between the applicable (safe) utilization of black powder as opposed to the more "modern" "smokeless" powder.

2) Amongst Algonquian speaking groups, the "owl" is not uncommonly considered to be the harbinger of death and an encounter with a representative species could be considered to be a bad omen.

3) However, other cultural groups consider the "owl" to be a symbol of wisdom.

Point being that your particular interpretation of the symbology may not be consistent with the intent of the originators of the specified symbology.

Which, I must admit, mimicking owls provided hours of entertainment for me.

Actually Rupert's Maternal Grandfather was the equivalent of the head accountant for the Atlantean time machine program which lasted some 2,002 years with mixed success. You can travel in time at huge expenditures of energy but you end up say 10,000 years ago in where you currently are. That being a problem.

Since the universe moves, the solar system moves and the Earth moves that means 99.99999999999? of the time you end up in empty space somewhere the rest of time you end up inside something. However they did find that an individual could travel in time within in their own life time (as your younger or older self) but unfortunately this tended to cause you to have mental breakdowns and develop addictions to cream cheese, tuna fish salad and broiled sheep kidney's. It also caused your DNA to reset and you tended to develop into the opposite sex a slow process taking up to twelve years each time (not that there is anything wrong with that). Having to change underwear became expensive.

Humans will have had having a hard time with tine travel. Their brains and/or language didn’t evolve with it.

The above completely ignores the fact that the oldest seismic event corresponding to the Lacus Ligustinus occurred in 218 BC which is about 130 years AFTER Plato died.

Plato's Critias.

Even the remnant of Attica which now exists may compare with any region in the world for the variety and excellence of its fruits and the suitableness of its pastures to every sort of animal, which proves what I am saying; but in those days the country was fair as now and yielded far more abundant produce. How shall I establish my words? and what part of it can be truly called a remnant of the land that then was? The whole country is only a long promontory extending far into the sea away from the rest of the continent,....    (The continent being Europe)

By mentioning Europe, the continent which Greece belongs to, and making Atlantis to be an "island" Plato is assuring that this larger than Asia and Libya combined landmass is both, not a part of Europe, and also a massive landmass unknown to anyone, not even the historians/geographers, and definitely unknown to any and all Egyptian priests. And since Socrates/Plato were very knowledgeable of these subjects, and also completely familiar with Herodotus' history, as they were both "book-worms" of those times, it makes it impossible for Plato to place Atlantis on the Iberian peninsula, which is just another promontory extending from the rest of the European continent..

There is no part of Atlantis in Spain! Although Spain is representative of one of the older of one of the 5 sets of twins.

Herodotus' History

Book IV.42-43

For my part I am astonished that men should ever have divided Libya, Asia, and Europe as they have, for they are exceedingly unequal. Europe extends the entire length of the other two, and for breadth will not even (as I think) bear to be compared to them. As for Libya, we know it to be washed on all sides by the sea, except where it is attached to Asia. This discovery was first made by Necos, the Egyptian king, who on desisting from the canal which he had begun between the Nile and the Arabian gulf [i.e., the Red Sea], sent to sea a number of ships manned by Phoenicians, with orders to make for the Pillars of Hercules, and return to Egypt through them, and by the Mediterranean. The Phoenicians took their departure from Egypt by way of the Erythraean sea, and so sailed into the southern ocean. When autumn came, they went ashore, wherever they might happen to be, and having sown a tract of land with corn, waited until the grain was fit to cut. Having reaped it, they again set sail; and thus it came to pass that two whole years went by, and it was not till the third year that they doubled the Pillars of Hercules, and made good their voyage home. On their return, they declared - I for my part do not believe them, but perhaps others may - that in sailing round Libya they had the sun upon their right hand. In this way was the extent of Libya first discovered.

Next to these Phoenicians the Carthaginians, according to their own accounts, made the voyage. For Sataspes, son of Teaspes the Achaemenian, did not circumnavigate Libya, though he was sent to do so; but, fearing the length and desolateness of the journey, he turned back and left unaccomplished the task which had been set him by his mother. This man had used violence towards a maiden, the daughter of Zopyrus, son of Megabyzus, and King Xerxes was about to impale him for the offence, when his mother, who was a sister of Darius, begged him off, undertaking to punish his crime more heavily than the king himself had designed. She would force him, she said, to sail round Libya and return to Egypt by the Arabian gulf. Xerxes gave his consent; and Sataspes went down to Egypt, and there got a ship and crew, with which he set sail for the Pillars of Hercules. Having passed the Straits, he doubled the Libyan headland, known as Cape Soloeis, and proceeded southward.

Following this course for many months over a vast stretch of sea, and finding that more water than he had crossed still lay ever before him, he put about, and came back to Egypt. Thence proceeding to the court, he made report to Xerxes, that at the farthest point to which he had reached, the coast was occupied by a dwarfish race, who wore a dress made from the palm tree. These people, whenever he landed, left their towns and fled away to the mountains; his men, however, did them no wrong, only entering into their cities and taking some of their cattle. The reason why he had not sailed quite round Libya was, he said, because the ship stopped, and would no go any further. Xerxes, however, did not accept this account for true; and so Sataspes, as he had failed to accomplish the task set him, was impaled by the king's orders in accordance with the former sentence.

Pettytalk,
Plato did not go wobbly in the passage you cited.

docyabut2 has already linked to an image showing that a "1500-1300 BC culture" for bronze age Southwestern Spain and southern Portugal is named for a small peninsula:  the Atalaia peninsula.

The Atalaia coastal region shed much of of its soil (into the sea) in three regional tsunami's:  2000 BC; 1600 BC; and 1200 BC.
When the Phoenicians arrived in this region, by sea ca. 1100-900 BC, the Phoenicians reported that that the sea farther west than Gadeira/Gades/Cadiz became too shallow to sail farther west.

I shall now speak the deadliest words one can speak to hard core Atlantis believers.

'Hey guys come to an agreement on where and what Atlantis was then we can have a united talk with the orthodoxy.......'

Monetize it. Set up some one-on-one bouts — docy v/s atalante; petty v/s Mario Dantas — and take bets.

Only one stupid will be the Strongest.

Results:

Mario v/s Petty — Mario starts the bout saying he “stings like a butterfly and floats like a bee.” When the crowd jeers him, he complains to the ref how mean everyone is, and walks out of the ring. He tries to sneak in during the next fight, complete with dark glasses and fake mustache and fake accent, but is immediately recognized. He runs away again, saying he’ll never come back, but comes back anyway.

During the whole of the above, Petty talks to himself in his corner. No one’s there to hear it, but he claims to be Jack Johnson, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad, Ishtar, the Bab, and a Turkish oil wrestler from 782 AH. After the bout, he wanders into the street and is hit by a bus because he’s convinced himself that black is white and he can’t see crosswalks. He is not reincarnated and all the people he’s claimed to be meet him in the afterlife, complete with torches and pitchforks.

I guess the best response to your "stupid" comment is giving you the finger sign to point to your own stupidity.

We could set it up where they all get to debate each of the other ones once.

What do they call that kind of tournament?

Oh yeah, Clown robin.

In the end it will probably just end in an argument between Atalante and Petty,  Mario Dantas Polar showing photoshopped images of Greenland , while Docyabut2 stands in the background repeating herself.

We need to get a guy named Frankle? - he's a biggie in Atlantis belief - he'd just tell them why their translations were all wrong and it's really Sardinia, or Sicily or somewhere.
