Very unintelligent to point out the wrong enemy. He's fighting fire with fire. The Left/Socialism is not the problem. Political correctness is! And mass hysteria.

yes that too, and both of those things are product of the left.

How very "diplomatic" of you...

No it's not. It may be more dominant on the left side these days, but they are not the producers. Political correctness and mass hysteria are normal human traits. Just because one side uses it more than the other in a period, does not make it their property.

You don't need a history lesson, I assume?

The only way to understand the present is to know the past.

By ignoring the past, you are bound to repeat its mistakes.

caring about current events more, does not mean ignoring or not understanding history.

So, when has bigotry between the wings ever lead to something good?

Oh, I assure you, we are many on both sides, who are fighting political correctness and mass hysteria!

I once played a game of monopoly with my GF where the loser had to AHEM AHEM the winner. That was something good.

funny but i do not see anyone on the left fighting it, they only embrace it and use it,  and i can somewhat understand it, they have nothing else left to do.

yes that kind of monopoly is good, but you do not really need the monopoly for that, card game is a faster way.

I see I made an unintentional joke there :D
Maybe I should have said that 'it sounds a lot like confirmation bias'.

Is it your contention that the people of this country have a right to free healthcare, education and other "benefits" from our government?  If so, can you explain where the magic money comes from?  I'm not trying to be combative.  I sincerely wonder where this concept of "government money" comes from.  I was educated in public school in one of the poorest states in this nation and managed to figure out the concept that the government only has the money it takes from productive citizens and if more citizens are receiving freebies from the said government than are paying into it, the system eventually crashes in a very big way.  The rise of a generation of young people who seem convinced that there is an endless supply of money that can be forcibly taken from others to pay for all their needs is frightening.  The most vocal among these advocates should be required to live in Venezuela for a few months and talk to the citizens about how the country USED to be.  That nation is reported to be sitting atop a pool of oil that exceeds what the Saudis have, yet they have people killing dogs and cats to survive and find food.  All of this regression and chaos began after Socialists managed to convince enough of the poor that they could have a better life if the capitalists were removed from power.  And this is a pattern that can be demonstrated throughout the history of that ideology of governance.  It fails, EVERY TIME and the resultant chaos leaves a handful at the top who are wealthy and the rest are living in abject poverty AND are politically oppressed.  Hell, even the Scandinavian countries that have been living large off of North Sea oil are beginning to feel the pressure.  The only reason they have maintained a good quality of life for so long is the homogeneity of race and culture that exist/existed there.  PC culture is a learned behavior that is the first step to causing people to become comfortable with self- censorship.  I'm not sure how you define "mass hysteria" but while that phenomenon is a proven trait in groups of people, you'll have to define what group or groups you feel are suffering from that malady before I can understand your point.

Its actually the fiscally responsible thing to do long term.

Thats how the many in that generation feel about past generations and the military industrial complex.

Its the exact same thing Its simply about priorities.

Money is the primary concern. Currently, the US government is already spending more than it earns. Healthcare is already a massive cost, as a percentage of both government and public spending.

I was born in England -- so I can tell you how Universal Healthcare works over there.

There's obviously no such thing as magic money.

The money comes from people's paychecks -- everyone's paycheck. An increase in the amount of medicare taxes that the government takes. That's the bad news.

The good news is that there's no more insurance premiums to pay (unless you want to buy additional private healthcare, of course, on top) -- and that, on balance, it should cost the average family slightly less, overall.

The problem is -- if you're not paying insurance premiums currently, then there's no good news -- just bad news.

And that, IMO, is why the US is so resistant to the idea.

And yet public healthcare and education works absolutely fine in virtually every other country...

Umm.... mass hysteria might be a human train, but "Political Correctness" most certainly is NOT. It is a manufactured concept and - as currently used - is contrary to human nature.

IDK on the one hand I agree that political correctness has become a weapon, for both sides whether they want to admit it or not, but on the other at its core isnt "political correctness" really about politeness?

I think we need to be careful to not swing too far in the other direction.

That's only good if you two were the only players.

Is that why the Canadians keep crossing our border for our heath care?  Appointment times are faster and I'm fairly certain the quality of care is better.

As far as public education here in the U.S. is concerned it's a dismal failure with High School grads getting the equivalent of an eighth grade education.
