I see the OP probably won't be back anyway so this thread is going nowhere fast. But for anyone interested in the proof I was thinking of: If the universe does not exist, that means everything does not exist, including rules. Without rules, nothing couldn’t exist. Therefore the universe could not be nothing because nothing couldn't exist. 1

Yeah, sigh. Five years from now, the same people, or those like them, will ask the same questions and get the same inevitable non answers. There are no real answers. That's what belief is all about, Charlie Brown; in the absence of evidence, believers simply resort to imagining them. That doesn't work for everyone and that's just tough. I'm afraid it's the only answers we'll ever get. Edited November 26, 2018 by Hammerclaw

I'm afraid it's the only answers we'll ever get. To ask oneself, "does the belief benefit me in a constructive way?" is a much better question than what I've seen. No, the questions are about what is objective. Rather than what they should be focused on, the subjective. 3

Garath Brooks wrote a song about it. Being an American country western song it the single most depressing thing in the universe. I know it's oxymoronic, but country western music actually inspires depression. Edited November 26, 2018 by danydandan
