I can prove the universe exists.

Can you prove an all powerful god that is capable of creating universes exista?

No you can't! You cannot prove to me that all I see, hear etcetca are not figments of my imagination.

All you had to use was a proof of contradiction. I was actually looking to have a decent logical debate. But anyways.

Fair enough.

I see the OP probably won't be back anyway so this thread is going nowhere fast.

But for anyone interested in the proof I was thinking of:

If the universe does not exist, that means everything does not exist, including rules. Without rules, nothing couldn’t exist. Therefore the universe could not be nothing because nothing couldn't exist.

I disagree. Have you been to the politics section? There is clearly nothing in the heads of some of the posters there.

Did God or the Universe come first?

If god existed first where did god come from? If the universe came first how does god fit into it?

These threads are starting to remind me of a Taco Bell menu; the exact same ingredients rearranged and called something else.

Same thread, different name. Well, I think we all know how its evolution will go.

Yeah, sigh. Five years from now, the same people, or those like them, will ask the same questions and get the same inevitable non answers. There are no real answers. That's what belief is all about, Charlie Brown; in the absence of evidence, believers simply resort to imagining them. That doesn't work for everyone and that's just tough. I'm afraid it's the only answers we'll ever get.

To ask oneself, "does the belief benefit me in a constructive way?" is a much better question than what I've seen. No, the questions are about what is objective. Rather than what they should be focused on, the subjective.

The universe is 13800000000 on years old and the concept of religion is probably around 40000 years old. Its not even close.

Garath Brooks wrote a song about it.

Being an American country western song it the single most depressing thing in the universe.

I know it's oxymoronic, but country western music actually inspires depression.
