Really, who would want to inject HIV into their own body just to 'test' ?

I am 100% behind this, that is the gene editing of humans. However, China is notorious for producing these fake stories so I don't necessarily believe that this is true.

Doesn't sound like it's good for anyone... Especially those modified...at least with our current understanding.

@OverSword Here we are!

To answer your question: No, they can just take a blood sample and test immunity from that.

Aren't there people already immune to HIV?

'Gene-edited babies': China halts work of He Jiankui

China has halted the work of the scientist who claims to have created the world's first genetically edited babies, and says it will investigate.

He Jiankui caused outrage earlier this week when he told a genome summit he had altered the genes of twin baby girls so they could not contract HIV.

His statement has not been confirmed, but if true breaks tight rules around the use of gene editing in humans.

Prof He's university said it was unaware of his experiment.

Rumours Claim The Chinese 'CRISPR Babies' Scientist Has Gone Missing

It's been reported that he is under house arrest at the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, China, the institution that employs him, and from which he has been on leave since February.

However, the university has denied this, a spokeswoman telling the South China Morning Post, "Right now nobody's information is accurate, only the official channels are."

He has not been seen in public since Wednesday last week, when he attended the Second International Summit on Human Genome Editing in Hong Kong to clarify his claims.
