if he is so interested in space flight, maybe he should build maglev launch system for space flights, something like a carrier launch catapult, combined with a ramp.  and not waste time with boring a tunnel in CA.

Impossible because the carrier would need to be accelerated to 11.2kms/sec on the ramp. No human would survive such high g-forces and no structure would withstand the drag within the atmosphere.

AllPossible

Just the mindset to travel to another planet is a mission by itself

what do  you think G forces are during conventional rocket launch? how much G's do you think trained human can handle?  do you think every flight is manned? you do not really think ramp would be the only thing that launches craft? how much do you think we can save on weight of fuel if we give initial boost?

I am

They could use the maglev to launch supplies into space then drop off the crew in the spaceships they've all-ready invented

I dont think, I know. During a Soyuz launch, the G-force is in between 1 and 4 G.

Trained pilots can handle up to 10G but for a very short period of time.

No.

obviously even best maglev ramp is not gonna work by itself, but it can give initial boost, without using on board fuel, there will be less fuel\weight needed to continue. we wont need huge rockets, burn 100s of tonns of fuel just to take off.  isn't is why space 1 used a plane to launch their module, and now they build stratolauncher, for that purpose alone,  how much extra fuel\rocket we'd need to launch same modules conventional way?  big minus is that ramp needs large real estate, and a power plant working just for that.
