I couldn't have said it better!  Yeah, Trump can act like a tantrum throwing baby and his actions are often beneath what has been considered "presidential" but where had all that dignity and respect for government gotten us?  Treated like witless proles and ignored by our "betters" who we elected to "lead" us.  IMO we need to make one final try with an Artice V convention of the states to bypass the Congress completely and make strategic Constitutional amendments that 3/4 of the states can agree on.  If that's not possible then burn it down.  It's become a field so full of weeds there is no other way to make it useful again.

From the day he was nominated they gave him way to much press coverage. I knew he'd get elected because even bad publicity is good publicity. They pretty much shot themselves in the foot by doing that. It's more than obvious they're agenda driven complete with sensationalized half truth headline grabbers. The progs (the target viewers) absolutely believe every word of the sensationalized headline. So it comes down to a state of mind really. Socialism is a state of mind, the greater good and all that, but it's also a pyramid scheme. That's why we have a blend of capitalism and socialism to strike a balance.

Yes, Stardrive. Socialists look at theory only.  They never look at socialism in practice.  In the USSR, it eventually became apparent after time that the country exchanged their rich class for a rich ruling class.  Cuba - Fidel and his brother became billionaires from the proceeds of the mineral mines that they liberated "in the name of the people". Funny how you used two examples of communist nations in place of socialist nations.

For some actual examples of socialism (or at least the kind of socialism most of us progressives espouse), try any country Scandinavia.

Not to mention Hugo Chavez's daughter is a multi-billionaire. The truth is, we can't afford full blown socialism, just ask Brazil and Venezuala. Sweden tried it back in the 70's and ended up having to backpedal they're way out of it. Behind the theory of socialism is a pyramid scheme where the ones in power have all the wealth, but for everyone else, the path to obtain and retain wealth is gone.

What a load of tripe. First, Sweden is, right now, a mainly socialist country. Second, you live in a country that has loads of socialism. How do you think the police and fire brigade are funded? Not to mention the military. There are tons of examples of socialism in even the most capitalistic countries.

And most importantly: all examples of failed socialist states in the past 100 years were run by dictators who were basically under attack by the US and its allies. They were or are being ran into the ground with sanctions or outright wars. It was the whole point of the war against communism, and often the reason behind dictators coming to power in the first place.

I just read today that the 26 richest people in the world - 26 individuals - are as rich as the poorest 50%. Anyone saying that evening out that number a bit would be disastrous is a ****ing moron.

If you took the time to RESEARCH Sweden you would find you're in left field believing they're a purely socialist nation. Research it and then get back to me on this. 

Socialism and capitalism it their raw forms are both pyramid schemes. My mistake for not stating that. But that's why a blend works best. Have you ever stopped and wondered why so many socialist nations in the past 100 years have dictators or presidents for life?

Now now, no need to throw insults at me, it's not necessary to get a point across. Ok, let's say the 26 richest people on the planet decided to give away all their wealth to the poor. We all wake up in the morning millionaire's. We celebrate all day, happy as a lark. We go to bed that night thinking how awesome it is that everyone is a millionaire now. Social justice has arrived and we're all rich! Next morning we get up, go to the grocery store, oh gosh, the price of a loaf of bread has doubled and so has petrol, and good grief, everything has doubled in price. Taxes increase also. And before long, everyone is poor again!
