I feel I'm becoming harder to beat (right @diddyman68?), and am making fewer mistakes. So I'm on the right path.

I think you are definitely on the right path!:tu:

I'm being very aggressive in our latest game. But yeah you are not throwing away pieces as you were in our initial game. On the right track is right.

@sci-nerd i could tell after your first 5 moves ,that you had improved a lot.keep playing like that and you'll start to win more than you lose

Also. Before you submit your move, double check to make sure you haven't left something hanging.:tu:

I've stepped out for the summer so I can work, but if anyone wants to challenge me at chess my username is the same as this one.

I'm licking my wound after failing to predict a game winning move by @joc, but otherwise I'm open for one new challenger!

Are you aware of, and using, the 'analyze' feature on the game board?  Only asking because for a long time...I wasn't.

I take notes on a wee note pad. My wife thinks I am crazy, she is probably right, but it helps me more than the analyse function.

Whatever works!  It is really interesting how different brains process the same information.  The storage of conscious memory in my brain is so small that I have to go back and forth and back and forth...over and over and over.  Other's can just look at the board and 'know' the whole game in an instant.  I can also go back and forth and back and forth in my head...but it is kind of like doing math in  your head...I can do it but it's not my strong point.

Regardless of techniques, it is all about studying the board...what is my opponent trying to do?  why did they move there??  was that a stupid move or a trap?  ...and always...if I do this, what will they do?  and if they do that what will I do?   etc...for every piece on the board...it gets complicated pretty quickly.  But that is what makes it interesting.

That's what I'm trying very hard to stop doing. These three new games I'm playing now, I only did it once so far.

Gotta wait at least 1-2 hours and 1-2 cups minimum.

Well, see the whole thing was...I had already figured out what I was going to do...and then this morning I'm like...wow...how did I not see this last nite...checkmate in one move...you can not even believe how surprised I was when instead of saying 'checkmate'...the board said...'opponents move'.  Then I saw what I had missed.

What I love about chess is exactly how it correlates with life.  You miss something in life...it can kill you!  I think working in the hot sun has something to do with..not making excuses ...just sayin'.

You are doing good!  I gave you a couple of pieces for the same reason I gave away my rook to diddyman...being in a hurry and chess don't really mix.
