I still rush the occasional move...then instantly regret it...

Deep into the games, when the attacking starts, I sometimes get excited and eager, feeling a sense of imminent danger. That makes me overlook pieces, lose them, and lose the game. When the first mistake is made, I get so annoyed with myself, and then it often repeats.
I need to learn to step away from the board and calm down. Being in check or being threatened does not need a fast reply, even though my senses says it does.

Maybe I'm ready tomorrow again. Maybe I'll need a couple days.

Well, you know the mistake you make, and you know how to fix it.thats a big positive.

I'm terrible at finishing an opponent off,i could have a bish, horse and a castle, and spend an age chasing a solitary king around the board.

So how does this work? I mean when does the tournament start ? and how long can you go between moves? I work during the day.

Just set up an account at red hot pawn ,

No sign of a tournament starting yet,not till there's enough people.

You have up to 3 days to make a move,or as soon as your opponent moves, you can also play up to 10 people at the same time.

I think we had equal advantage because you had the pawns...even though I over powered you with the other pieces.  Nonetheless, there is little excuse for being in too big of a hurry to play chess.  It kills me every single time!  Just silly mistakes...like loosing my rook.  I miss the obvious a lot.

Thanks! I still need to eliminate the occasional mistakes though. They always happen when I rush.

I have been trying to eliminate the same mistakes my whole life...so...good luck with that!  Getting in a hurry just doesn't a good game of chess make.

Hey, you went from...'What's a Bishop?'  to  understanding strategy and having an ability to anticipate your opponents move basically over night!  It's only a matter of time until you are kicking all of our butts!

btw...I almost stepped into a couple of different check mate traps you laid.

Learning fast is my thing. When I first came here, I told people that I learned most of the basic sciences in two years, and everybody laughed at me. But I really did. Not on expert level, but I was able to have scientific conversations and understand studies and articles. (Remember that @XenoFish:D)

Hope that didn't sound like bragging. It's just important to me that people don't think I was a liar. And two years seemed long to me at that time.

How about joining us for the chess tournament? You'll have plenty of time to practice!

Claude Reiland? I just initiated a game with him.

Btw, our own game, I'm experimenting with a different opening.

Since everyone is challenging one another, I thought it would be fair I joined in.  Anyone can hit me up if they want.

I have it set to zero that way I initiate games, I didn't want people starting games where they only move once every 4-7 days.
