There is no such thing as toxic masculinity.  There is only masculinity and then there is bad behavior which is not exclusive to men.

This is the truth.

Too bad the media won't run with a phrase like - Toxic Celebrityism.

Celebrities were in full "bully mode" towards children.

Kathy Griffin, for example, called for the Covington Catholic High School students in the video to be doxed so that she and the public should shame them for their behavior.

“Ps. The reply from the school was pathetic and impotent. Name these kids,” Griffin said in a fiery tweet Sunday morning. “I want NAMES. Shame them. If you think these f---ers wouldn’t dox you in a heartbeat, think again.”

John Cusack scolded the students in a lengthy social media post, calling their behavior disrespectful while slamming the kids' apparent support of President Trump.

“This Covington School thing is beyond belief…the lack of basic Respect for an elder (any elder) is the number one symptom of a SICK society….MAGA CATHOLICS paving the road of ignorance…you are a DISGRACE…look that word up, it means something….learn your History, Catholics,” the star wrote Sunday. “Grow some spine Clergy…lead by example and stop embarrassing the rest of us who know better. There is NO supporting MAGA that can be rationalized.”

Debra Messing was significantly less subtle in her rebuke, calling the students “A--HOLES.”

Comedian Michael Ian Black simply tweeted side-by-side images of Sandmann and Phillips alongside an image of white boys harassing African-American students during the Civil Rights era.

“This is appalling. The ignorance. The gall. The disrespect. It’s shameful. And sadly on brand. When something like this isnt even surprising, it’s evidence to our place in the cycle of recreating our darker chapters,” he wrote. “That Native American man showed incredible strength and dignity.”

Michael Green went as far as to say that Sandmann is beyond forgiveness.

“Plus side: A face like that never changes. This image will define his life. No one need ever forgive him,” he wrote.

LOL maybe they learned from the foxnews crowd after Parkland.

Neither side in that incident seem like good guys to me but it was a great example of how broken the twitter outrage machine is.

The old guy was definitely most at fault.   He walked right up to a kid and started beating his drum in the kids face with the intention of starting a violent outburst.   The kid knew it and just stood his ground.

The old man then told his lies about the incident and claimed to be a Vietnam vet which he wasn't.      He was in the service for a short time and was a refrigerator repair man who went AWOL 3 times.

He then went into a catholic church the following day beating his drum trying to start crap again.

Celebrities had already bullied the kid at that point.   At least one actually calling for violence against children.

The really sad and pathetic thing I saw last night was on the CBS or NBC nightly news, can't remember which, Where they talked about the incident, barely walked back the initial story wherein a group of disrespectful white kids nearly murdered a poor innocent indigenous person, and then interviewed both the grinning boy and the man with the drum.  They asked the boy if he would be willing to apologize if he met the man again and asked the man what he thinks could have made this exchange better.  The man said the kids should get sensitivity training.  So still fake news.  everyone that pays attention knows these kids took the high ground and should be praised, rarely do teens have such restraint while being taunted and attacked.  And mainstream news wonders why everyone calls them fake.

Jamie Lee Curtis had the decency to admit her mistake and publicly, sincerely apologize.

That School had to shut down for the safety of the students. The venomous hatred being directed at teenagers by celebrities, news casters and other public figures is really something to behold. Especially considering not a word was uttered by the young lad. Smart move on his part.

I really thought we had another few years before things got this bad. Cathy Griffin, a washed up deluded celebrity, was on Twitter asking fans to DOX the MAGA kids and their families (exposing their personal information such as address, phone number, etc). Very, very dangerous. There are plenty of unhinged lefties who are salivating at the thought of finding them. At least some of the news outlets have started walking back the story - doesn't mean as much when they worked hard to whip everyone in to a frenzy first.

I bet she jumped right on the bandwagon condemning Trump's "grab em" comment.

The whole thing was spun in to another anti-white narrative before any real facts came out. Such is media in the age of clickbait.

The truth should be told for the sake of the kids involved but this whole incident is ultimately just another big, fat nothing burger. No one died, no one went to jail, no one even threw a punch.

Super quick synopsis - Black Israelites, arguably one of the most racist sub groups, started talking smack as they like to do on the street corners. They used racial slurs against the MAGA kids making them the only group present that resorted to such language. There was no "native american ceremony" either: there were maybe two natives there and the drum only came out as a way to drown out the smack talk between groups. The "ceremony" angle was entirely fabricated by the media who care more about clicks than the story itself. They cared so little of the facts here they just made some **** up because a native started banging on a drum. There was no ceremony. There were angry, racist Black Israelites (aka "Black Israelites",) and a group of MAGA hat wearing teens.

Second, that Native bull**** artist needs to be checked. He's been seen at other protests in the past trying to get his 15 min of fame. He changed his story 3 times here, as he is seemingly unaware of the existence of the internet. The Black Israelites released the full 2 hour video which exposed most of what Mr. bull**** artist was making up. He lied about the MAGA kids chanting "build the wall!", he lied about being in combat in Nam, he lied about what he was doing at the protest...

The public reaction is very troubling. People were whipped in to a violent frenzy in just a few short days over nothing.

A few days after this incident, he entered a catholic church beating the same drum in an attempt to start more crap.

Just like to point out hypocrisy when i see it man ;)

If a dude according to todays "rules" is "toxic" for looking at hot women in bikini's and making a remark, then women saying they will "blow" someone if they go out and assault another human being is...

Well i'd call that latter person a toxic waste dump...

I'd have more to say and better descriptors but it's not allowed on UM
