you said this:

I can tell you from experience, becuae I also work too much, that suicide rates among males, especially young adult males, is very very high.

you said it, i did not= all i'm asking is to go into more detail= if you're far too drunk or drugged up or both then it's not me with a problem, mate-- all due respect

And they you asked why I thought that was. And I said "simply, toxic masculinity" which lost you. It was a direct answer

I'm not writing a ****ing thesis here

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding the phrase you used.  You said he 'tried' to raise a fist at you...not sure if you were saying he tried to hit you or what...I was just wondering if you retaliated in anyway.  Never been to Australia...never met an Australian woman that I can remember...I just had it in my head that Aussy Women don't take a lot of crap and are tough as nails.

As in he had his fist ready to hit punch me in the face, which would have made contact with the right side of my face near my eye.

What I did was tell my dad who I live with and my ex lived here to and told the ex to get the F out of this house.

Then filed a police report.

Good for you!  That is exactly what you should have done.  Few things p*** me off as much as that!

even more to the point of my question then!!! i'm asking what said individual feels the reason for this particular suicide rate is..

why do so many people in here naturally seem to go into defense mode when they're not being attacked!??!

I'll stalk you, too, if I'm ever in upside down land. I'll cut your ground harness so you fall of the earth.

And good for you too. Chivalry is not dead.

Maybe chivalry is the better part of masculine valour?

Go outside and look at your street. Look at the street lights, the sewer drains, the cars in the driveways. Look at the planes flying over head, the fire hydrants strategically placed to help keep you safe.

That's traditional masculinity at work.

I'm still trying to figure out how a fire hydrant has anything to do with masculinity...traditional or otherwise......

Yeah and that means what?

Absolutely nothing.

It's just banter that attempts to mine humour by implying the meaningless or trivial is somehow a self evident truth.

However, the very act of explanation has rendered that attempt fruitless.

you're not in the mood to go into detail then? = ya know, make a big meaning full statement in a public forum; a statement that actually has an extreme personal meaning for me..

oh thanks for that.. i'll leave you to it then
