Canada grants asylum to Saudi teenager Rahaf Alqunun

Saudi teenager Rahaf Mohammed Alqunun, who barricaded herself in a Bangkok airport hotel room earlier this week in a bid to stave off deportation to the kingdom, has been granted asylum by Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said.

Awesome news. Maybe the statue of liberty would like to move to Canada also. She must be getting tired of being flogged by Trump.

What has the US or Trump got to do with this? I thought she was planning on going to Australia?

That still doesn't justify bringing the US into this.

This photo is why Trump and the US has been brought into this. Trump has shown himself a lapdog to dictators as he helped cover up the journalist's murder so the girl didnt even bother to apply for asylum here because she knew it wouldnt be safe.

Give me a break! You are going off the deep end.

So, now tell me why she didn't go to Australia as planned?

Youre just not paying attention close enough. Trump ran cover for MDS after he had that journalist murdered , MDS is Saudi Royalty, that chick was running from Saudi Arabia.

Hell and thats only thing Trump has done that may make someone seeking asylum think theyre not safe if a dictator comes callin: Trump 'working on' extraditing Islamic cleric Gulen from US to Turkey

Apparently gov.au were too slow.

But, fair go! You can't really expect much after lunch on a Friday arvo!

Strewth! We would've got to it Monday morning.

That still doesn't explain why she didn't go to Australia as planned.

Had to google it but Apparently Australia was taking too long to decide on her application so the UN forwarded it on to Canada.

Australia slammed for dragging feet on Saudi teen’s asylum plea

Im not sure where I would have rather landed if i were her: Sun and waves or cold but legal weed?

It would be a difficult choice. Maybe Australia in the winter and Canada in the summer.

Naw, I'll stay where I am.

It was still Thursday in Canada. Just more discrimination based on longitude.

Another zonist plot!

the Australian government took too long to decide and the Canadian Prime Minister is made of greater substance than the PM of Australia, so he offered a place in Canada effective immediately.  Its indicative off just how politicians operate in my country. they haven't the courage to make any decision that might harm their chances of retaining office, instead they throw it out to the media and wait and hope there is no negative backlash. Bravo to Canada.

Expecting yet another impulsive, overreaction from the Saudis, but who cares, it was the right thing to have done.
