I reckon they will come up with a nice chunk to donate, but it is a shell game and instead of ALL of it being donated, only some of it will be and the rest gone to operating expenses, ads, mailing expenses, travel...… :(

Exactly like Trumps charity foundation I expect. Except this time, when the feds show up at the door, there wont be any money left in the bank.

How about all the poor saps that donated directly to him. There are quite a few as I recall. They wont be getting a refund and hav'nt at this time.

I didn't know he was taking private donations too. I know there was another group collecting funds. That link is in the other thread also.

Clinton Foundation is as bad. My point is not to point fingers at one party or the other, but to go back to my cynicism over corporations.

Politicians are all dirty, as are many others out there. JMO.

I'd be staying away from that! He has no authority to hire someone to do this.

yuck. In a sane world, folks would see all this and put their wallets back in their pockets until something clean shows up as an option.

Apparently all the money they have and what they hope to keep is going to a plan to purchase border lands from private owners and build a wall without government input. I have to find the link again but I think their goal was 2 miles of wall if I recall

Here it is: GoFundMe Border Wall Campaign Implodes, Turns to Kris Kobach and Sheriff Clarke

Quote

Rather than financing federal efforts to build the wall, We Build The Wall plans to go the route that its name suggests and finance construction on its own, according Stockton. He said the group hopes to secure enough funding from its initial GoFundMe supporters to build “at least two miles” along the southern border, which is nearly 2,000 miles long.

Undeniably the Clintons are a direct and peripheral cause related to the current "troubles".

Lol, well...now I'm not so worried anymore. You dont want to p*** off a bunch of angry Texas land owners. The vast majority along the border have already given Trump the finger.

He'll never do it. People won't sell to him. Only two miles? Most people will take the refund from GoFundMe. At least I hope so. You can't just go start building without authorization.

Yeah it didnt sound like too many were willing to give up their land to the feds I cant imagine that ragtag group of grifters would have any better luck convincing them.

Go Fund Me is the only party in this who seems on the up and up :(

Talk about naïve to talk to the attorneys after the fact. This was lame to begin with.

Heck, 5 minutes research on the Internet could have told him that they could't accept the funds.

The whole GoFundMe page has been revised and is still opened. He has a list of people he claims are helping him. People are still donating. You can find the link to it in the other thread on post #18.

I apologise.

easily accepted. I do not bash Vets, but my use for the politicians who throw lives at their vying then change the plan and back out and leave it is just a waste of lives IMO and never worth it. That is what I mean by "fodder", not that I do not grieve and treasure the young lives lost.

I also do not equate immediately that a "Veteran" equals a saint. That is propaganda at work. Veterans are simply people trying to make a living and serve their country, and are forced to pray their leaders actually give a damn about their lives and hopes and dreams and do not waste them.

JMO.

The hate from the Never-Trumpers expresses themselves to new levels.  I do believe that we’re going to need another higher capacity hate meter for the new year.  The old one is pegged.

I don’t know all the names of the board of directors, but Clarke, Carter, Kobach, and Mendoza are impeccable.  That’s not to say that temptation can’t get the best of them.  But I recall an event (one of the first national fundraisers) in which an appeal went out to the people, including school children and they came through for America.

The wall will get built and I can’t see how the Progs can get even more unhinged.  That gives me great delight.  The Progs will waste their time on impeachment; meanwhile Trump will get things done.  And they will get even more frustrated when they get nowhere with manufactured crimes.  Much popcorn will be consumed.

Trump does need to be careful about declaring a national emergency.  Some say this will lay the ground work for a future Socialist to impose a national healthcare system.  But I just don’t see that happening anytime soon.  I think that we will get a better healthcare system setup before then and the only way to then impose a socialist system would be by force.  I don’t see that happening without rebellion.

As a contractor for the government, we have annual trainings that we need to go through.  One is ethics.  Most of it has nothing to do with us but we still need to know.  In the business world there are many practices that are considered standard but when dealing with the government, can be a violation of rules.  Sometimes it takes a while for contractors to understand that.  With what was in that report about the three contractors is inconclusive.  Maybe they feel that they got their act together??  Time will tell.

The Trump foundation had a list of people on it's board of directors as well.  The reason why it was shut down was because the board never met and Trump was spending the money however he wanted without even consulting the board.  Some didn't even know they were on the board: https://theweek.com/speedreads/779101/trump-foundations-treasurer-didnt-know-treasurer-until-investigators-told
