A 4.7 earthquake was recorded about 130 miles off the coast of Maryland at @6:30 this evening. No tsunami activity has been issued. No damage is expected to be found on land.

I didn't feel anything.

Not A Rockstar

Ugh. I had a screwy dream about tremors in the Ohio River basin and Indiana the other night. Hate it when the old brain throws out oddling dreams I cannot account for.

4.7 is nothing, we had a 5.2 a few years back, we were right in the epicenter and I slept through it (sober).

Huh, so a minor oblique...reverse fault solution? I'd guess the NE-trending fault solution is right based on Zoback and Zoback (1989). Sure, it's a 30 year old paper, but it's not like the stress regime is going to have changed in 30 years.

Broad mid-plate compression. Neat. M 4.6 is fairly good-sized.
