Still Waters

With only an estimated 400 left in the wild, the race is on to save the Philippine eagle—one of the biggest and strongest raptors in the world.

Kittens Are Jerks

Fascinating article and video, and a great opportunity to watch an eaglet grow. Interesting to see how the Philippine eagle is different from other eagles. I had no idea they hatch just one egg every two years, nor did I know that they take care of their offspring for up to 18 months. Bald eagles, for example, take care of their little ones for approximately four months. Hopefully efforts to get them off the critical endangered list will be successful. They're magnificent birds.
