The idea of willingly allowing another nation to dictate its terms toward you, especially when those terms are couched in phrases like "Death to America" would indicate a person who is servile, at best.  Most Americans don't roll like that.  The rhetoric to the contrary notwithstanding, Iran is openly seeking hegemony in the M.E. and unless their plans are resisted, they will eventually cause that region to burn out of control.  The only evidence a rational person should need is the recent alliances being made between the Jews in Israel and the Arabs in several of the Gulf states.  Enemy of my enemy, to be sure, but Iran seems to pose enough of a threat in THEIR estimation to risk the wrath of their own people in allying with the hated Jews...

Isnt that precisely what is being expected of Iran ? servility in the face of dictatorial policy by a foreign nation/s with regards their nuclear power. Given the current state of affairs across so much of the Arab world from the M.E to North Africa to Pakistan, one can understand resistance to any foreign interference in their decision making.

Iran seeking hegemony in the M.E. is no different to that Saudi Arabia which is seeking the very same thing. It all hinges around the Sunni Shia divisions of the region, which in turn is exacerbated by historical and present day foreign intervention.

All history has shown us regarding the M.E. ,is that the greater the intervention, the greater the chaos.

The difference is that Iran has proven itself to be irrational. It is - after all - a theocracy. Nobody could trust it to be a custodian of Nuclear weapons.

when? Don't say 1979, or whenever the Mad Ayatollah took over, in what way has Iran proved itself (as opposed to whatever rhetorical bluster its politicians may have said from time to time) to be as irrational as, say, the neocons who've seized control of the US Government with their endless mania for regime change and assuming that they have they right to overthrow the government of any country whose government it doesn't like, have in recent years?

"Iran", you'll probably protest, "has threatened to Destroy Israel"(TM)!!!  The neocons, ever since their coup in Washington, have not only threatened but have done their level best to destroy any number of nations. Is it only countries that bluster about Israel that aren't to be trusted?

So because a country is a theocracy , lets just kick the right to self determination out the door.

No Vlad.. there IS a difference.

How many countries has the USA threatened with total destruction,  and the mass expulsion (or genocide) of their population ?

ZERO !

Iran threatens Israel with precisely this every other day ! And THIS is the country that you would allow to produce nuclear weapons ?

Let us not forget that it wasn't just the USA that imposed sanctions on Iran over its nuclear development programs. It was France, Germany, the UK , China and Russia.

Look at the (rather short) list of countries that have diplomatic relations with Iran. For the most part, and with a couple of exceptions, it is the proverbial 'basket of deplorables'. They say that you can tell a lot about a man from the company he keeps. Well, sometimes the same is true of countries.

  Fire and Fury!  Shock and awe! The ravings of every Dr Strangelove since the 1950s, such as make up the majority of the Amazing Donald's cabinet of wisdom.  Who the hell is saying i want Iran to have nuclear weapons? Don't be so bloody mad. It's you and your raving cowards in the Israeli government that are the only ones saying that that's what the deal that Obama (Spit on his name) made means it would allow them.

You know how "nice" your hero Bibi Netanyahu is? You know how when he launched his strike on what were supposedly "Hezbollah" targets in Syria his brave fighter pilots, you know what they did? They hid behind civilian airliners so that the defenses daren't shoot, since if they did and hit a civilian airliner then boy, you can imagine the reaction can't you. Imagine if Iran's mad leaders did such a thing. John Bolton would without a doubt use it as a provocation for an all-out assault.  So don't give me stuff about this plucky, brave little haven of democracy that's continually under threat from this great fanatical bully.
