Cool. Warp drive, huh ?

I was hoping for some crazier stuff. I guess they decided to keep that stuff hidden for a little longer.

Crazier than invisibility, antigravity, and dimensional warping ? :o

Traversable Worm Holes,  Anti Gravity for Aerospace applications.

Now that We, O, precious humans are investigating this stuff, it will suddenly be Ok to discuss this in terms of alien technology.  Anti ET-ers are funny like that.

Anyway, glad to see the US gov does not believe in UFO's and ET's  yuch yuch.

I was under the impression that, a few years ago, the US officially announced they were working on a Warp drive type engine. Last year there was apparently a report on it too, released. Then a few years ago, in 2016, there was a claimed 'leak' that USA had managed to build a working Warp Drive. As for invisibility cloak, I was also under the impression that either the USA or UK (or a joint effort) had managed to do something similar a few years ago as well. Wonderful stuff anyway.

Additionally, $22m is really not a lot of money for research, I doubt much was actually done.

Yeah. Something like human/gerbil hybridization, or a government that works for the people.

"I think anyone who looks at these titles will scratch their heads and wonder what on earth the Defence Intelligence Agency was thinking," said Steven Aftergood, director of the Federation of American Scientists' Project on Government Secrecy.

"These are the kinds of topics you pursue when you have more money than you know what to do with."

Was watching a programme the other night about twin sisters who scammed the Pentagon out of millions, before getting caught.

Jeeze these are the ones which got caught, add up that money with the 'research' and give it back to the tax payers.....then you can make America great.

Sure you're not confusing NASA's research into a warp drive?

If they're really working on this stuff then one would assume (seeing there's no end result for the world to see) it's still secret?? So why reveal it all to the world via a FOIA request?

Therefore IMO one should question the validity of: 'Steven Aftergood's (director of the Federation of American Scientists' Project on Government Secrecy)' FOIA response....

It sounds a little fishy to me...........

Thats like a list of Sci-Fi programmes, maybe the theory that the government release ideas into the mainstream via tv is true and it subconsciously prepares people for the eventual reveal

Maybe this stuff is the stuff they don't mind letting us in on because they have much more than that.

The paper on traversable wormholes is actually pretty interesting.

It's a pdf dated 2010 from the DIA.

Caution: it DOES NOT state that wormholes exist. It DOES, however, study the phenomena and details the many things that have to happen and things we have to find out in order for it to happen. For example, "If one 'zaps' a region of empty space with a beam of negative energy, will a traversable wormhole appear? One doesn't know....the author believes that empirical studies will be necessary to find the answer once we develop an intense source of negative energy." (page 29 of the pdf link)

The bottom line is this is a list of things that the DIA are studying, not necessarily things we actually have in our current arsenal.

hi ftr.  Ahhh, I'm sure you are aware that if you want to not respond to a FOIA, you just use the magic words "a matter  of national security" and it stops there.

So, they let this info come out. why?  Well, maybe it's because this stuff they allowed out is small potatoes compared to what they are hiding.

There must have been an intense recruitment program conducted here in the UM Forums itself ...

Or perhaps its just a made up list of impractical technologies that was released so to make other countries research the same in an effort to waste their time and money?

That's not a bad thought, actually.  I've heard of this technique being used by FBI and CIA. What they do is make an internal memo with startling but misleading info in it and hope it gets seen by a mole.

This is news? I remember in the 90s when they were allowed to have real news and there was a clip showcasing the new invisibilty cloak a soldier was using. Now 25 years later its news? I have been trying to tell people about thier frequency technology and patents for it here for a while you guys are going to see i wasnt lying and they have been testing them on unsuspecting members of the public as well.
