No one in Congress, or their staff, knew how to use Google?

LOL sure thats the takeaway. Not that the federal government refused to hand over data it had to congress, and in fact appears to have attempted to intentionally obfuscate it, but that congress didnt know how to google.

Of course this tidbit being in the second paragraph of the article also kinda makes your point about googling extra special in the short bus kinda way

The document, which has not been previously reported on, becomes public as the Trump administration’s Justice Department has been unable or unwilling to provide data to Congress on white supremacist domestic terrorism.

Clearly America is ****ing doomed

it'd be pretty hard to catch 3,000 killed in one day in NYC, 911, by Arab terrorists

They weren't defined by their Arabness. They where defined by their religion: Islam. They where Islamic terrorists.

Just curious....

What does the following tweet from Rep. Omar even mean?

She is conflating white nationalism with domestic terrorism.

White nationalism is a political stance. It is racist and supremacist, like Islamism. However - also like Islamism - it is not in-and-of itself terrorist.

Terrorism, on the other hand, is a physical act in the real world.

I recommend this as a starting point.

So clearly Muslims ARE AS GREAT a threat as White Supremisicts if not more so.

Interesting that you lump all muslims together based on the actions of extremists but only refer to white supremacists on the other side.

If it wasn't for your prejudices, you'd either say islamist extremists and white supremacists or muslims and right-wing white people.

More like my point was that White Supremists are dangerous, but are not other terrorists just as dangerous? Should we ignore them?

Literally not one person has said we should ignore the islamist threat.

What they have said is we should also be considering the extreme right wing threat.

Which if, as you claim, is at a similar level, you'd be supporting.

Unless you want extreme right wing terrorists to be treated better than islamist terrorists. Why would that be, I wonder?

Ok. Islamist extremests...

Everyone... please go back and read my post again, but realize I'm only speaking of violent muslim extremests.

I do recognize most Muslims are peaceful and just living their lives best they can in whatever political system they live under. I dont hate them for it. But I do recognize that they aren't necessarily policing up those extremests. But... then again we aren't seeing Conservatives necessarily policing up white supremisists.

Should the peaceful Muslims stop the radicals? If no, then can Conseratives be held to stopping/owning white supremisists?

To be clear, I dont support white supremacy BS. It is based on ignorance.

Similarly, I believe much of the controversy Trump posts is also ignorant.

Similar to that, I believe Rep. Omar is dangerously ignorant as well.

One event can be very powerful.

All it will ultimately lead to here is civil conflict.  No government will ever confiscate the weapons of Americans who are willing to resist.  I think we may begin to see a political movement toward short-circuiting this nonsense by voting within states on creating 2A sanctuaries before any Federal authorities get the idea they can ride roughshod.  If citizens want to live in gun-free states, they can move to them.

I think the difference is, the right (in Congress, not your typical civilian Republican) are ignoring the threat of White Supremacists.

Quote

the White House “wanted to focus only on the jihadist threat” while ignoring the rising threat of domestic terrorism—including by white supremacists—in the report, which was released last fall. “They had major ideological blinders on,” said one senior source close to the Trump administration.

That, and you have Fox News telling the right that white supremacy is a hoax...

Care to share some numbers that put this into perspective?  I grew up in the South, in the SIXTIES.  The "N" word was still very much in vogue.  Crosses were being burned in rural fields and the Hooded types gathered openly.  THAT was 'WHITE SUPREMACIST" behavior.  Apparently, today just BEING white is a crime.  If they keep up that kind of rhetoric long enough, they'll get the "whitelash" we've heard about.  No one wins in that scenario, especially America but people who aren't doing anything to offend or threaten their neighbors will, at some point, say enough and fight back.

What numbers?  I showed you that the administration is trying to push back against white supremacist terrorism.  What numbers do you want?  I'm a white male.  I don't feel oppressed or attacked because of my race or gender.  So what are you talking about being white is a crime?  Whitelash?  I have never experienced that.  Maybe you are hearing about some hoax?  A hoax like white supremacy?  According to Fox News at least.  I have never felt persecuted, or had someone look at me with suspicion for my race.  Sorry.

You write as if all of that behavior is in the past.  Both of my uncles maintained their belief until their dying days between 2000 and 2010. It may not be acceptable in many places out in the open, but it has not gone away and has not been  replaced by Kumbayaa land.

I have not experienced the crime of being white.  That too may exist out there in areas, but  working as an engineer with  a whole lot of high school educated people in entry level manufacturing jobs, it was not apparent, with the exception of a single white kid pulling a knife on the black lead man and saying I ain't working for no ni***r.  He was quickly disarmed and escorted into HR to wait for the police.

Some folks seem to think it is whitelash if a black man doesn't step aside and hold the door open for you.   Reveling in victimhood is not power, it is surrender. no ,matter what color you are.

I'm not even sure people don't think it isn't acceptable in the open.  I work in law enforcement in a somewhat rural area, and I hear the N word used by my coworkers more times in 1 month than I heard in my entire life before I moved here.

My dad always said there would come another civil war, based on Political Correctness, and the confiscation of guns. I can imagine such an uprising, but IMHO most of those who would want to rebel are over 60, and not in the shape to form an army.

Younger folks are more willing to adapt, and bend, these days. Again. IMHO.

The other thing we might see is even more partisanship between red/blue states, with some allowing guns and the ones with mega cities not allowing guns. Personally, I prefer that we be allowed guns, but I'd probably not move because if it. Just as i dont move out of this far left state of Oregon.

Surely. I believe in freedom above all else and I think that controversial laws should be passed erring on the side of freedom. "Freedom fighter" sounds good

Right you are DieDhecker, left is a political thing that does not  always affect our daily lives.  Most loggers and farmers down in the Willamette valley do not identify as Lefties or even in the surroundings of Forest Grove, but they are happy to live their own lives and let others do the same. Most of the time.

When tech became a driver and attracted a more eclectic crowd to the cities, politics became more left, but the prosperity was good, and the scenery is still there.  So it is still live and let live.

Thanks, @aztek

President Trump tweeted earlier Thursday morning, “It would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep.Tlaib to visit. They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds. Minnesota and Michigan will have a hard time putting them back in office. They are a disgrace!”

No wonder why Deranged Democrats don't like Trump tweeting! He's getting right to the leftist base with the other side of the coin.
