Still Waters Posted February 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2019 Russia is planning to briefly disconnect from the internet as part of planning for a future cyber-war. The test will mean data passing between Russian citizens and organisations stays inside the nation rather than being routed internationally. A law mandating technical changes needed to operate independently was introduced to Russia's parliament last year. The test is due to happen before 1 April but no exact date has been set. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-47198426

hetrodoxly Posted February 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2019 If i was Russian i'd be worried it wasn't an attempt to see if they could deny it's own citizens access to what's going on in the world, Putin's main interest is to try and restore the old Soviet Union.
