It’s true, BUT.....and this excuses nothing, he tackled him a little late, which is no big deal, but too rough, which is a big deal, especially considering that the game was basically over and won by Cleveland at that point. But most importantly, and two things every pro knows damn well, you do not engage a QB in extracurricular anger and it’s always the guy that retaliates that gets busted. It ain’t fair, but it is standard NFL.

Here's why I think late hits and helmet to helmets were going on....and the clue is that whenever the helmet to helmet happened and guys were hurt they'd flash to the Browns player responsible and they'd be smiling and laughing....I think they were hurting as many players as possible in hopes the Steelers would drop out of a playoff spot and make the Browns eligible. That's sucky behaviour.

Maybe, but keep in mind this is a divisional rivalry with a long history of rough play and cheap shots. It’s like a tradition.:tu:

Trust me, Pittsburgh born and raised girl here...my Dad used to go to Forbes Field to watch the Steelers "WHEN NO ONE ELSE WOULD!!!" according to him. This was more than that. How often do players leave the field bleeding from their ears? I think the late hit was a last attempt to hurt or concuss Rudolph at the games end to force us to use our 3rd string QB.

I don’t think so. He did nothing to his head during the tackle.

There was only one helmet to helmet hit in the game. That was an ugly hit by Randall but 5 years ago would have been the kind of play that got a guy sent to the pro bowl.

It was just a bad bounce between three Browns defenders that knocked Juju out, thats why there wasnt a penalty on the play. (the flag that got thrown was a BS hands to the face call on a lineman , despite the defender actually having a handful of jersey)

Why would any opposing team want to hurt a QB who just threw them 4 interceptions?

I mean they probably will when they play in two weeks but even then ill bet it will be very late in the game :D

He kinda dunked him at the end. He certainly hit him on his recently concussed head with the helmet.

3 were what the commenters said. 2 were called in the article I'll post an excerpt from, I believe one the commentaters caught but wasn't officially called. Even so, the laughing after was uncalled for and to me pointed to an agenda.

"The Pittsburgh Steelers will begin a week of preparations Monday for their next game, and they will do so with three players, including two starters, in the NFL concussion protocol.

Wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson and linebacker Ola Adeniyi were placed in the protocol after sustaining concussions in the Steelers’ 21-7 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.

Smith-Schuster and Johnson exited after being on the receiving end of helmet-to-helmet hits by Browns defensive backs. Johnson had blood running out of his ear as he was being escorted to the medical tent after Damarious Randall’s hit that warranted an ejection for the Browns safety.

Because he has been doing okay in other games. How better to assure your own play off spot than forcing the team in your way into using their last standing QB.... a third stringer.

I honestly believe violent football was the only agenda but I could see why you would think otherwise.

It doesn't bother me at all.  I love seeing others passionate about their teams like I am.   :)

Yesterday it was the Patriots who were victorious over the Eagles in Philadelphia 17-10.

The Pats didn't play perfect football.  But I'd rather see them win ugly than lose an ugly game.

New England improves to 9-1, which means they've now have had winning seasons for 19 straight years!

WTH is up with the Kaepernick public workout? :passifier:

The league invited him to a workout and 25 teams signed up to watch. Then he declines and does his own workout that no team attends and he say the ball is now in Roger Goodells court.

Stuck on stupid. I don’t think he really wants to play just keep himself relevant enough so Nike doesn’t drop him.

Depends on who you believe. According to the Kaepernick camp the NFL set a trap and showed up with a waiver that was way out of line with a standard workout waiver so rather than give up future rights he moved the workout to a local school where he didnt have to sign the waiver to work out.

He had his chance to play in the NFL again essentially rolled out on a red carpet and blew it.  I think, blew it on purpose because he doesn't REALLY want to play, at least not bad enough to jump through hoops that others would gladly jump through.  He would rather be a martyr to a cause than face the fact that he was never that epic to begin with.

Could be. Could be the league knows many think like you so they set up the scenario in ATL to "prove you right".   Could very well be both the more I think about it.

@OverSword

Standard tryout waiver is much more narrow than the waiver the NFL sent to Colin Kaepernick

Quote

The 32-month Colin Kaepernick unemployment has resulted in plenty of false narratives. And there’s a new one that has emerged in the aftermath of Saturday’s aborted workout at the Falcons’ facility.

It goes like this: “The waiver that Kaepernick was asked to sign on Saturday is essentially the same one he’d have to sign to work out for a team during the season.”

On Sunday, PFT obtained the waiver that the league wanted Kaepernick to sign. On Monday, PFT obtained one of the same ones he’d have to sign to work out for a team during the season.

They are very different.

And yet did they really have to offer him anything?  The hype was definitely dying down or dead and they can afford to fight his lawsuit.  Also we should keep in mind that he was offered positions when this whole soap opera started by the Bronco's and at least one other team that slips my mind and he turned it down.  How hungry is that?  Not hungry enough to be on the most important position on my team that's for sure.
