Mexico border wall: Trump defends emergency

They can drive them over the desert in 4x4's, and then drop them at some point just over the border for 'mules' to take further.

I don't see the wall as being primarily to stop drugs, but it WOULD be effective for that scenario.

Chuck Schumer in 2009:

-Americans don't like illegal immigration
-"Illegal immigration is wrong"
-People illegally in the U.S. are "illegal aliens," not "undocumented"
-Border fence made the southern border "far more secure...created a significant barrier to illegal immigration"

https://twitter.com/RealSaavedra/status/1078496926058700800/video/1

Quote

Chuck Schumer just a few years ago was calling illegal aliens "criminals," saying that if someone cared "about America" then they would want "fewer illegal immigrants"

Quote

In 2013, all 54 Democrats in the Senate voted to pass "The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, And Immigration Modernization Act," which provided $46 billion for border security, which included hundreds of miles of additional physical barriers.

More quotes from the Democrats taking a hard stance on immigration:

https://www.bostonherald.com/2019/01/08/howie-carr-dems-flip-flop-on-border-security/

Therefore there can be only one reason why the Democratic leadership is against the border wall and that is because Trump is not their president.

The total hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds.

What do the powers of Congress have to do with the powers of the President.  Where is it enumerated that he can’t call a national emergency and then redirect funds, in effect countering an unlawful act by Congress?  Pelosi held federal workers hostage so that she could put Americans in danger.  It is the President’s duty to defend the nation from enemies, foreign *AND* DOMESTIC.  But that is why we have the Supreme Court as another means of checks and balances.  In the end, we will see who is violating the Constitution.  Trump’s argument is based in the laws of this nation, Pelosi’s argument is based in hate of Trump.  If the judges are not partisan, they will rule for Trump.

Theory?  Cartels aren't moving drugs a backpack at a time.  They move drugs by the TON.  You ain't walking a ton of drugs through the desert.  But, feel free to back up your theory with some numbers, as requested.

How many dead Americans from ODs do you want?

Sorry, but you're wrong.  The largest fentanyl bust in history was made last week and it netted just 250 pounds.  Of course, that much fentanyl is enough to kill over one million people.

And your claim that cartels don't move drugs via backpacks is just bizarre...and also wrong:

Illegal fentanyl mostly comes from Asia.  You post an article about some guys in backpacks.  You post no numbers of anything.  Even the article mentions the Sinaloa Cartel.  It was stated pretty clearly in the El Chapo trial how they move drugs.

Why, then, was the largest fentanyl bust ever made in Nogales, Arizona two weeks ago?

Try to make some sense here.  Please.

I edited my post to most illegal fentanyl.  Now, back to your drug bust.  Where did it occur?  At a checkpoint!  So make some sense as to how a wall would have stopped it.  Please.  The amount of drugs seized at ports of entry is astronomical.  Meaning, the amount that makes it through makes it worth the billions of dollars worth of drugs that are seized.  Now, wouldn't it make a heck of a lot more sense to spend that money on technologies and personnel at legal ports of entry?

If you're trying to suggest the fentanyl intercepted two weeks ago in Arizona somehow wasn't illegal, you've failed.  Bigly.

Further, you still seem to be agreeing with Taetopa that drug runners prefer to exclusively use ports of entry where they regularly lose 80% of their cargo.

Drug cartels and their mules are not that stupid.

Lefty Progressives, on the other hand...

Hey...you're the one trying to convince me that most illegal fentanyl enters the country along the US/Asia border.

Maybe you think that's where we need a wall.

Clearly you are a little special, and need this broken down a little easier for you to understand.  They don't lose 80% of their cargo.  80% of the drugs that are confiscated are at legal ports of entry.  Now, if the cartels are OK with losing billions at ports of entry, HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK IS GETTING THROUGH TO MAKE IT WORTH IT FOR THEM TO KEEP USING PORTS OF ENTRY?  These numbers are not an anomaly.  It is consistent, yearly.  You have yet to show anything, anything at all that suggests most drugs are coming in through the desert.  Why the hell is it so difficult for you people to have a fact based argument?

You're an idiot.  I mean, that's all there is to it.  The US/Asia border?  When you post something based off of numbers and facts, and not complete ignorance, I'll respond.  Until then, have fun in your dreamworld.

No.  The (false) claim was that 80% of all drugs is coming through ports of entry.

You've apparently spotted the utter foolishness of that claim and are now backpedaling.

Just the other day  old metal fence was run down at the border from the Mexican side illegally crossing into the U.S side.. Has anyone heard about it? There was one  truck left behind. Don't know if they traveled on foot from there or if another vehicle was traveling with them.

Speaking of Asia, shockingly they too have Coyotes that help Asian pregnant women  into the U.S  to give birth to their  baby return  back to Asia without having to pay for it. WE must be idiots  to have allowed so much wrong doing to our country to have continued on for as long as it did. So now we have a President who isn't going to allow it anymore.

You know...... Two of the "Coyotes" was Jared and Ivanka.  https://money.cnn.com/2017/05/06/news/jared-kushner-nicole-family-event/index.html

$500,000 is what they were charging the Chinese.

Let’s say we spend the money to stop all the drugs and contraband at the Ports of Entry.  OK so far?  Where will the drugs go next?

Really?  So when he was offered the entire $25 billion for the wall last year in exchange for DACA protections and he turned it down, was that compromising?

That was the start of negotiations, yes. Now we are somewhere else and different things are under consideration. Not sure why that has to be in every post just like the pretense that the wall/barrier crossing the entire U.S. border was ever the only thing Trump wanted. It was always barriers in some places and new better technology.

Anyway, I'm just reporting what I'm hearing people say. The Dems won't listen anyway they never do, they just make pronouncements they want to be facts without checking to see if they are. Like "The majority of the American people don't want walls."

Right, and at the risk of repeating myself, people, regular people, see it. I think the only reason they are fighting it is because what will they have to run on in 2020 if Trump fixes immigration?

The economy is thriving, unemployment is at an all time low, especially in Afr-Amer and Hispanic communities,  we are out of several bad deals made by previous presidents and are in new ones that don't take heavy advantage of us.....this is all in only 2 years. Imagine what new and great things could be accomplished in 6 more years. The Dems are fighting an uphill battle here. They keep putting themselves in a position to take a negative stance on great happenings. Fixing the immigration system has been a platform to run on for over 30 years. If Trump fixes that......what's left for them to run on....we'll tax you more? People love that...lol
