Outdoors blind people wear them to protect their eyes from sun and also injury, if you can't see things coming at you, things like insects, dust, etc covering your eyes is a good idea. Indoors it's also a comfort thing, as you can close your eyes and still engage with people, as a lot of people with eye issues, their eyes hurt, or dry out more. It's a way to keep engaged when if you're talking to a sighted person and closed your eyes for a long period they'd think you were ignoring them or asleep. Also on threads like this, it's great to be curious, it's not great to say abelist or insulting things about the disability you're curious about, blind people have adaptive equipment and can read online message boards just like you can. yeah, Indoors, eyewear can also provide comfort by reducing eye strain and allowing blind individuals to engage with others while still being able to close their eyes. It's important to remember that people with eye issues may experience discomfort or pain, and eyewear can help mitigate this.
