Eldorado Posted March 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2019 (edited) "A mass sacrifice at a 15th century archaeological site in Peru saw the ritual killing of over 140 children and over 200 llamas, according to a new study. This is the largest known mass sacrifice of children -- and of llamas -- in the New World." At Science Daily: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/03/190306142902.htm "The slaughter of hundreds of young children and llamas in 15th century Peru may have been in response to a huge El Nino. More than 140 boys and girls aged between five and 14 were slaughtered in what is thought to be a mass sacrifice to appease the gods of a now extinct religion." Kittens Are Jerks Posted March 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Interesting find. I'll never quite understand how someone came up with the idea that human and animal sacrifices were necessary to appease the gods. The little ones sacrificed in this instance had their chests cut so that their hearts could be removed. So tragic. 3 1
Wistman Posted March 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Sickening. Human inhumanity. To say nothing for the equally innocent llamas.
Vorg Posted March 7, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2019 It is no wonder the population of the earth took so long to get to what we have now.

Most of us, most of the time, want to love, grow and build things for the next generation. Unfortunately, a few feel entitled to force the rest of us to get in line and fight. The weapons science has provided us for that purpose, have become far more efficient than we are mature enough to handle.

They had a drought and it did not rain for a long time, therefore they sacrificed people and even the daughters of the leaders to placate the lower gods and when one day it worked, the sacrifice went to flow. And when there was a struggle for the throne, the cruel challenger sent his soldiers to walk the streets and ask who you support and if the answer was wrong then these people were immediately killed and young children were grabbed by the legs and smashed their heads against the wall. When ascended to the throne, the servants were also sacrificed. Edited March 8, 2019 by Coil
