Yes, this game can be challenging at times. Keep in mind you can use proper nouns (the way we could find them in an English dictionary).

For example: 'Alhadhur' https://www.transfermarkt.com/chaker-alhadhur/profil/spieler/178540

Also, for an -lh- word, I first think about compounds. For example: 'ill-humoured'.

For -c...- words, you can try Scottish names: -cg- -> 'MacGregor'.

For -f...-, you can try compounds with 'half': -fg- -> half-grown.

Sometimes, I spend some time finding a proper noun when there seems to be no common noun as valid answer. My search engine is my best friend then ^^

And when there seems to be no valid answer at all, we start over with a new word, as simple as that

 

girlhood -> amygdala                                         (there are several valid -aa- answers)
