So this is how rich people stay rich. First, they cheat their way into Ivy League colleges, then they deduct the bribes on their tax returns.

And we wonder why we can’t afford to fix our roads or take care of our elderly. It’s also likely the tip of the iceberg, because most rich people will probably get away with this.

My hat is off to the FBI today. Bad Rich People !

I was just reading about this. Some parents were paying up to $2 million to have their kids attend these Schools. Of course, once they graduate there is a cushy job waiting for them thanks to dad's connections. They live in a different world with a different set of rules

I've always listened to what Bernie Sanders had to say about "rich people" with one eye open, but perhaps he was right about the "system being rigged," to a certain extent, in their favor.

Clearly some "rich people" were very bad, and must have believed they were entirely untouchable.

that is because they usually commit financial crimes, not violent ones.  remember ceo shmuck, who raised price of medicine 5000%, he is in gen pop, and he is doing good actually, bulked up, and his knowledge of financial and legal system made him many friends there. 

as far as ego,  i can guarantee, anyone in their shoes would act the same way.   i have no doubt if you had a car\paper that would let you off any moving violation, in few days time, you'd be braking every traffic law without thinking.

I’m not saying that all rich people are bad, just these rich people. However, this does seem like an interesting sample from the broader “rich people” community. I doubt any were felons before.

This story seems to suggest a  broader contempt for the law, and the current tax system, by rich people, etc. 

I’m leaning towards a dose of socialism, as the medicine, not as a long-term fix, but as a temporary solution to this type of corruption. Pure capitalism seems unable and unwilling to cleanse itself of white collar corruption, while locking up the poor for self medication, etc. etc. 

It’s a lack of fear of the law, by rich people, which is the big story in this case.  And why not, we have a President, who; judging from the crimes of his associates, is engaged in the very same type of lying, cheating behavior. 

I can honestly say, for the first time in my life that I am seriously looking at some form of socialism as a potential remedy for bad rich people. I am rapidly losing faith in pure capitalism.

yea, just ask Cubans, Venezuelans for an advice.  

 this has nothing to do with capitalism, but with corruption, and crimes that exists in every part of society,  poor or rich.  

and if you think corruption does not exist in socialist regime, lmao, there is much more of it there.

maybe the biggest, and possibly only reason, you hate rich, is that you are not one of them?

actually you should compare, their doctors are not any worst, maybe even better than ours, with what they have, they are doing amazing job. and they are not in it for the money. it's actually 250k deaths from our doctors mistakes, every year that makes me cry. with the best diagnostic equipment, 1\3 of a million spend on medical school, they still kill 1\4 of a million a year.

btw usa keeps cuba exactly where they want them, there is no need to destroy them, none whatsoever, it would actually be counterproductive, so we never attempted it.

you should ask your local politician why they can't fix your roads, because neither criminal rich nor fbi, have anything to do with it,  i'm sure your local gvmnt has a website, or a FB page, so write them, take pic of your roads, make sure you take them from an angle that shows how bad and deep potholes are, use a ruler if holes are deep,  talk to your neighbors, have them do the same, take pic of  any damage those roads did to your car, including mechanics receipts, and sent them to your city hall, along with every local news station.  this is how you get things done. complaining here,  and blaming people you do not like will get you nowhere.

Well I met him when he bought out our company.  He spent a couple hours talking to the small fry which he didn't have to do, and he was polite and gracious.  People that feel like you are not worth the dirt on their shoes have a hard time faking it for that long.
