Robert Aickman, I'm currently reading the translation of his collection of strange stories called "Cold hand in mine". He is very good in a more subtle manner. Are you familiar with his work? He was a British author, looks a bit underestimated.

I'm reading Grimscribe: His Lives and Works, by Thomas Ligotti. I'm a bit disappointed since I read that he is a true successor of H.P.Lovecraft. Maybe on the level of ideas but his style is so boring. There is no madness nor eeriness that we can find in Lovecraft, Blackwood or Eickman stories...
