Still Waters Posted March 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2019 Memory does not work like a video tape – it is not stored like a file just waiting to be retrieved. Instead, memories are formed in networks across the brain and every time they are recalled they can be subtly changed. So if these memories are changeable, how much should we trust them? https://www.theguardian.com/science/video/2019/mar/14/why-your-memories-cant-be-trusted-video 2
papageorge1 Posted March 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2019 I'll go one further in saying I believe that memory storage may even be non-local and the brain is involved more with retrieval than storage. Everybody knows memory is not perfect but it is highly reliable or we would have gone extinct.
