Dust ring discovered in Mercury's orbit

Well. I said it before. Mercury's core is almost twice as large as the Earth's indicating it might be the center of a gas giant that was stripped of it's outer layers by the Sun. Why wouldn't it have a dust cloud?

This reminds me of the "alien megastructure"  stars. Doesn't rings of planet formation make so much more sense than an "alien megastructure"? It's a ridiculous idea. Maybe some newly formed stars just have protoplanetary disk rings. Arent these just remnants of the processes?
