Maps are projections of the globe onto a flat surface. An east-west journey of 30deg of longitude is a lot longer on the equator than it is on the arctic circle. They didn't go far enough inland, they used a fish eye lens or you can just call them a "shill" and dismiss all the evidence. FE is as much theory as it is cognitive dissonance. Each one of those was a struggle against greedy capitalist robber-barons who were happy to abuse the literal life out of their employees -- and still are, in many cases. The Christian angle of FE is one I had not heard of until I started looking in to it. The Bible seems to strongly in favor a flat Earth, talking about the "firmament" dome separating the waters above and below (space is really made of water,) it describes the Earth as "God's footstool".
