But that's what we are talking about.  Letting them die.

That is the nature of the addiction and they all knew that when they started. Don't use heroin. I'm not saying let them die but there is no comparison to people who were born with birth defects.

None that I'm aware of.  It IS how leaders deal with thugs who are trying to take him and by extension his supporters - down with a political hit job.  There are TWO sides to this situation Tate.  Neither of us gets to demand what our reality will be and force it on others.  Millions of Americans disagree with your take on this president.

I'm afraid that America is stuck with immigration.

America has always welcomed immigrants.  We just don't want our nation to literally DIE because we are flooded with so many that our sense of who we are vanishes.  You wouldn't be very pleased if I came to OZ and started demanding you do things MY way while I expected you to shelter, feed, educate and take care of your family's health, now would you?  It's insulting to even have to feel the need to argue such a simple ideal.

No.  What needs to be done is a mass deportation back to El Salvador and any other Latin American country these illegal aliens hail from.

There is no constitutional right for the entire world to live in the United States, and the legal immigration process should be highly selective to ensure that only the best and brightest, those who will actually contribute to bettering the quality of American life should immigrate here.  If these people want a better life, then they need to figure out a way to make their country a place where they can better themselves.

So by your logic, should we be sorting out our current residents to make sure they are the best and the brightest, and deporting the ones who don't make the cut? Aside from native Americans, almost all of us are relatively recent arrivals.  Why is there a constitutional right to be a citizen just because you were born here? Forget the illegals; if you can vote and you don't you should be deported. Funny, but it seems we always want to shut the door right after we get here, or soon enough thereafter. Been going on since the 1500's. Look it up.

Whether we're talking about a house or a country, The word "welcome" is the difference between a guest and an intruder, legal and illegal.  Permission to immigrate always resides with the current inhabitants.

You are conflating the legal immigration process with an open door policy of come one come all.  We have never had such a policy.  To my knowledge, NO nation has.  If they keep coming in numbers as large as they are today, they are going to be met with increasingly angry neighbors once they are here.

And millions of Germans supported Hitler and millions of Italians supported Mussolini. History will be the judge, but if you don't see what a dark time this is, you are willfully blind. We don't need partisan wars here, and that's what is being encouraged. Forget the obvious lies and distortions, could our President have just a little class, and be less of a schoolyard bully? I'm a conservative, but he's embarrassing. And don't do the obvious dodge and compare him to Hillary, she should be in jail too. Anyone who lies is unfit to lead. Anyone who trashes a dead man is unfit to lead. Anyone who threatens violence by proxy (I have REALLY tough supporters) is unfit to lead.

Deport to where?  Have you ever heard of the term birthright?  It is a tradition as old as mankind.  I've known many better families than the one I was born into but I can't just switch because I like them better or because they have more money.  Many families have members they aren't very proud of but they can't just give them away.  The same goes for countries.  In fact, a good argument for keeping people out would be that we have to accept the ones who would be born to them later.  When you were looking up the 1500s did you happen to learn that there was no USA  back then?  Any discussion of the laws and practices of the US can only be valid in the time period that it has existed.  The ratification of the Constitution in 1789 is generally accepted as the beginning of the country.  If you have problems with the laws before then, take it up with England.  That's what the Founders did.

We don't have such a system now... EXCEPT for people in Latin America.

Let's ask Tiggs if he needed a passport to fly to America. I bet he did. I'm sure he did. EVERYONE has to come to any country in the world including America, with a passport - except, Latinas getting into America. Of course, we all know why this discrimination. So democrats can increase their power base.

I hear your side on that andthen.  Millions of Americans agree with me and millions disagree with me, we are split.    Kind of like with Hillary, millions loved her and millions thought she was evil incarnate. We all get our opinions  I lost in that contest because I thought she was a crook too.

So, I don't like him, think he is dishonest, out to swindle America..  I could just judge on policies.  I kind of like the idea of not going to war with anybody, you will get a lot of the things you like too.  I agree whole heatedly that neither side gets to demand  and expect the other side to crumple up and surrender.

As long as revenge stays within politics, as long as due process is followed, it remains as I think you called it ugly ball.  Not a great standard for the US, but both sides must bear responsibility. and eventually it will be over.  If it crosses over into personal vendetta or abuse of power, then it is going to hurt us all.

Who’s talking about America dying? Everything and everyone evolves and your country is no different. Country’s that don’t, die. You should see the perks and privileges that immigrants get in Australia. Helluva lot more than they do in America. You don’t see me complaining about it.

Hey, how about THIS for an idea ?

Let the border be closed for 3-4 weeks. Lets just see what happens ?

3-4 weeks of "no drugs" ?

Lets see the cities explode.

According to proponents of the wall, the bulk of drugs are smuggled in on the backs of people walking across the desert where there are no walls Same with illegals.  The portals handle car parts, avocados and other commerce.  Not very effective to shut down the border without a wall.  Unless you string a couple thousand miles of that yellow plastic tape that says "Closed for Repairs".

Brilliant!  Ffinally a solution to all of our problems.  A national test that goes out with the census. Questions to test for mental, physical, and ethical disabilities.  Non citizens go right away for the rest, the bottom 10%, a couple of weeks to sell your stuff, to pack your bags then out.  Thank goodness we have resources waiting.  ICE could handle the deportations.  That's about 30+ million people, should be a great savings.  Of course, we should keep it fair to the wealthy.  First 5 points of bonus score  $100k per point per year until the next test in 10 years.  Next 5 points $1mm per year until the next test.  But none of this anchor baby or chain immigration stuff.  A smart kid can't keep his parents in if they fail. A brilliant physicist can't keep his aunts and uncles.

Best plan yet because the top 90% of us would be happy, and saving a lot of money. Even better, the United States will breed smarter, stronger, more ethical people every generation.  Someday. all of our kids can be stable geniuses.

The only obstacle is Gromdor's reference to heart and soul. Some people have already gotten past that, maybe the rest of us can too.

Well of course, birthright, the second part of the solution.  We will keep them in America, just send them someplace where they can make a fresh start and do some good, and even get a tropical vacation. .  Puerto Rico naturally!  Still part of the good ole USA but mostly second class and ignored.  We would have to let the Puerto Ricans move to the mainland, we could swap assets between them and the deported 10%.

Yes. The liberals in America are destined to force the immigration into America by promising "EVERYTHING FREE IN AMERICA" (West Side Story) to increase their power base. That is the diff between immigration then and now.

700 thousand Venezuelans have come to America since goo goo socialism has gripped Venezuela yet you hear nothing in the media about this. Why? Because they are basically respectful WORKING people. Therein lies the diff..

I must admit, O funny one, I don't get your joke here but, I 'splain . Mexico is part of North America. Latin or Central America is not. Everything South of the Mexican border all the way down to South America is Central America. Does that change your approach here?

My main man Tat, how are ya?

The shut down would be to show others thinking of forming a caravan NOT to. I think the idea sounds good and need exploration. Some companies and farmers would suffer, no doubt. But that too may put pressure on Obrador to not allow the caravans past Mexico's southern border in the first place. If he needs help doing that, the US can help him. But Trump should surely threaten Mexico with stopping their $500 mill in aid if they don't cooperate.
