I honestly feel like this contraversey started from one of the Democrats running for nomination.

IMO Biden has the best chance of beating Trump.

In the current enviorment he might be soon as too much of a moderate to win the nomination though

I will say this.....the one thing that I saw of Biden that I liked while he was VP was the speech he gave at the Pentagon on the 10th anniversary of 9-11. I'm sure someone else wrote it, but his delivery was spot on, heart-felt,  emotional and for a few minutes I saw why someone might have gone in a booth and pulled the lever for him. It's the only speech I ever saw him make,

Could get that Morr ? mmm More/morre kid to do a documentary and everyone would love the ole boy again and he'd once again be DOE Biden I mean "'Super JOE ! Biden"'.

UPDATE: guess it was Mike Moore-- hells bells !!!!!! its probably already in the works.  A bit of fun there go figure eh.

If you look at video clips of Biden, he is consistently tactile.

Many years back, I worked with a woman who, at the end of any conversation, would have both hands on me, and I never even noticed it happening.

She was naturally warm, engaging, and interactive. It didn't mean a thing, and she did it to everyone, male or female, young or old.

No doubt that's a part of his story.  I don't think he's a serial molester by design.  The real point is the HYPOCRISY of the Left after they used every nasty technique in the book to literally destroy the career and reputation of Kavanaugh when they had NO REAL EVIDENCE.  To me, THAT is the story here, not uncle Joe being uncle Joe.  Let him run.  It will be an easy win for Trump.

Oh and BTW, did she whisper in the ears of children, sniff their hair and rub their shoulders?  Apologies come and go but internet memes are Fo Evah  :w00t:

But just so I have this correct, Trump can NEVER do anything wrong.

Yeah, I think you've made that point already.  The thing is, Trump got put through this treatment for a year of campaigning and the media never stopped running negative stories about him to this day.  Where's the inequity?  If uncle Joe wants the job he's got to man up and take the pain for the team.  Fair is fair, what?

That "college" is not "modern"

You really should read Federalist 68.  It explains what the Founders were thinking and why they chose to put this "extra layer" in the decision-making process.  Here is a single paragraph from #68 that puts their concerns concisely.

The reason that the Constitution calls for this extra layer, rather than just providing for the direct election of the president, is that most of the nation’s founders were actually rather afraid of democracy. James Madison worried about what he called “factions,” which he defined as groups of citizens who have a common interest in some proposal that would either violate the rights of other citizens or would harm the nation as a whole. Madison’s fear – which Alexis de Tocqueville later dubbed “the tyranny of the majority” – was that a faction could grow to encompass more than 50 percent of the population, at which point it could “sacrifice to its ruling passion or interest both the public good and the rights of other citizens.” Madison has a solution for tyranny of the majority: “A republic, by which I mean a government in which the scheme of representation takes place, opens a different prospect, and promises the cure for which we are seeking.”

So is this "touchy feely" business just banana skins thrown under him to put him out of candidate contention ? Hardly seems a big deal.

Possibly, but this early along in the campaign season it is probably his own people putting the names out there so he can make his mea culpa and move on from it.  It's like intentionally exposing kids to childhood diseases so they can have immunity later.  That used to happen a LOT.

As to it being a "big deal", that isn't as much the point as the hypocrisy from the Left.  Remember how big a deal it was when just accusations were made against Kavanaugh?  One woman came forward with a 30-year-old "memory" that included other people from that era and no one remembered it the same as she did.  She had NO PROOF, yet the Left made a multi-week campaign out of "we MUST believe" what the woman says, no matter what.  THAT is the real issue here.  The rest is just smoke and mirrors.  They are hypocrites and they get away with it mostly because the media is their 5th column propaganda arm.  They are NEVER held to account for their hypocrisy.

I think the way left side of the party doesn't want him. They don't like moderates. He was leading the Democrats and he hadn't announced his candidacy yet. Didn't AOC threaten to go after the moderates? I think they went after the Lt Governor of Virginia too.

edit to say: Yes.

THanks for the posting/ link / ARTICLE as they said-- she had some compelling points.

On the other hand:
So he was exceptionally familiar with the procedure eh!?     {{{[[ Virginia, Lt. Governor]]]  Polygraph king.

Polygraphs are not a farce?

Well there's far too many farce links to list them, I suppose it matters who gives them also-- oh! and how many by other independents etc.(Two more tests, no appointment surprize only) not just one they can count on for the right results or that would be too much like getting juuuuuuusst the right economist or NASA individual for a certain spin/view/agenda/angle/etc. et cetera. and be too obvious.

Hope I didn't muddy susieice's post, I certainly agree the progs are taking out their people again.

What I find comical about Biden is he's standing there bashing white people for political gain. Hey Joe, look in the mirror!

This is just an out and out attempt to "Kavanaugh" Biden. He touched some woman, who thought it creepy at the time... LOCK HIM UP!!! GET A ROPE!!! ... Seriously. Unless these woman are going to press even Misdemeanor Charges, this is a non issue.

This is to jazz up some EMOTION, and get people FIRED UP. Then when those fired up people go online, they can rant and rave and try to get Joe to concede before he even starts by way of the Court of (Far Far Left) Public Opinion.

I'd tell Joe to do just what he's done, and tell the far left to F-Off (We know he's not above the occasional F-Bomb.). He'd pull in a lot of those 1/3 of voters who are centrists and independents. He can do without the 5% that are the HORRIBLY VOCAL far left.

AndThen... It is my opinion that Trump's got the election locked up at this point, it's his to lose though. If he maintains his movement on the Economy, and Immigration, and nothing horrendous happens... He's got it already in the bag.... I mean look who is running....

Bernie - old socialist who isn't going to pull the center.

Kamala - also isn't going to pull the center.

Polahontas - also isn't going to pull the center.

Beto - there isn't enough magic dirt to get this guy elected.

Booker - I rather like his style, but his support is in the toliet right now.

And a bunch of other Never-Going-To-Bes.

Biden is IMHO their only actual shot, and I said that last time in 2016 also. We'd have President Biden right now, if he'd run. But he allowed Clinton to be the nominee, and now we have Trump. Not necessarily the worse thing, as Trump has done a lot of Conservative things, but I'd rather have had someone else, like maybe Cruz, as the Conservative Republican President.

i gotta say, why is it that when a democrat gets accused of sexual misconduct it never really seems as bad as when a republican does?

Man I'm not arguing that you're wrong about these candidates and their ability to pull the center but I think you're ignoring that after 4 years of extremism and chaos Trump really isnt going to pull the center either.

I think the fact that republicans lie, justify, obfuscate and rally around to support the accused makes the entire process much worse on them.

Historically, if the economy is running OK, the current President wins reelection by gaining the center. Democrats need to play to the center to try to counter that. Playing to the left wing that they already have fully sold out for them isn't going to win the election.

This is like Politics 101. It is interesting to me to watch the various players going about trying to consolidate the left vote, and then they'll have to try to pivot to the center once most of them fall away. But, what we saw in 2016 is that such a tactic isn't always going to work. Playing to New York, and California, and the NorthEast isn't going to win anything. New York is actually continuing to loose electoral votes. Republican leaning states, like Texas and Florida continue to gain electoral votes.

The Dems are going to have to play to the Center... politically and geographically, if they have ANY hope of winning in 2020.

Historically presidents who have committed campaign finance violations, been caught having affairs, lied about their investments in foreign nations, been forced to have their foundation disbanded because of fraud, and are under investigation for bank fraud and a litany of other offenses would have been jettisoned by their party long ago.

Point being I dont think either side can draw too much comfort from the lessons of history in todays era.

Yeah we've touched on this before but I think things that used to be playing to the coasts are much more mainstream than the right realizes (or wants to admit) . Obviously the green new deal is a huge swing to the left but on their own some of the basic tenets , i.e universal healthcare addressing climate change etc. , are basically mainstream middle of the road opinions in 2019.

While this alone is clearly anecdotal I just read it about a half an hour ago and it seemed relevant so I thought id share...the headline is stupid though as the reporter doesnt seem to really be "thrown for a loop"

Watch: Fox News reporter thrown for a loop after man in Missouri diner praises AOC’s Green New Deal

Of course they are, but so is Trump. Im really interested in whether he can at all and whether doing so will make him lose the more extreme of his base.

This story about Biden smelling this woman’s hair creeps me out. That would definitely bother a lot of women.

I guess the only way to get rid of Joe Biden was to frame him as a dirty old man?  This seems to be the Democratic game plan, beginning with James Carville’s comparisons of Biden to 80 year old Catholic priests, around the time the last big church scandal.

I never really liked the guy, until he became vice president, and now he’s too old, but I’m not sure that he should be framed as a dirty old man, to try to stop him from running. Perhaps it was the only way?
