If you run into a Democrat calling this racist, don't use logic and waste time "debating" them...

Just point your finger right in their face, and call them a RACIST!...Then mutter somethin, somethin, somethin "but BROWN PEOPLE!" very loudly.

They've been doing it for years fighting for sanctuary cities and now this?...

Hard to take people serious as human beings anymore...

The big deal is that those were earmarked for Red states.

I mean, why complain when Trump is just following the same pattern.

Trump is offering them a safe sanctuary rather than deportation.  Isn't this what the Democrats envisioned when creating these sanctuary cities?

of course not. it has little to do with immigrants, and everything to do with political  game, with trump ignoring their rules, it does not go the way they planed.

and how they react to that shows their colors perfectly clear. they just wanted to have complete control of the cities, and disregard any federal regulations, they wanted to do anything they wished

This falls under the heading of "be careful what you wish for".  I think the idea of sending illegals to sanctuary cities is a great idea.  Where better for someone to go than a place that welcomes them?  But if it turns out they're not really welcome then it exposes the whole idea of sanctuary cities as a hollow political ploy.  Liberals always like to appear better than they are.  It's had the added benefit of having people like Cher come out publicly to denounce policies they once supported.  It could even lead to Democrats thinking before they speak or legislate.   The alternative is to send them to non sanctuary cities, where hopefully they follow the law and do not coddle their illegal behavior.

If true, leave it to Trump to play with innocent lives, in a condescending manner like this.

Are illegal immigrants innocent of breaking immigration law?

I'm confused because ABC News is now calling this punishment. Are these cities now saying no, we don't want the migrants that are being detained in the US? It seems it was decided not to send them anyway but I see some contradiction here. Do they have to walk there themselves to gain sanctuary? You would think they'd be happy the migrants would be allowed in until their cases are heard. Guess not.

You are confused because you watch Main Stream Media.   There job IS to confuse...and then propogandize!

Reminds me of Star Trek: Deep Space 9.  The crew travel back in time to 2024 and find overcrowded sanctuary cities across America.

Yeah, I still think it's a good idea too.  We have both dying rural towns and urban areas. More job openings than job seekers.  More than a few states have declining populations.  This way they will be more evenly spread across the US as well instead of bundled up near the border, since we have sanctuary cities in pretty much every state.

The atomic war (WW3) started about two years later in 2026.  The sanctuary cities featured in DS9 were a result of the following:

From the website: Memory alpha

'Sanctuary districts were created by the American government in response to serious social and economic problems that had resulted in an increased rate of poverty and social destitution during the early 21st century. By the early 2020's, every major city in the United States had a sanctuary district.'

'Sometime prior to 2024, the Federal Employment Act of 1946 was repealed, which had stated, at least in theory, that the United States government bore the responsibility for ensuring economic stability in the country. Symbolically, this meant that society had washed its hands of responsibility for combating the endemic poverty resulting from a global economic depression.'

'Sanctuary districts were originally established as places of sanctuary for those without jobs or homes.'

Shhhhh!  Don’t let Progs know about Memory Alpha.  They’ll want to go there to learn about how well the fictitious Socialists utopias work.

They definitely need to dump a few bus loads into silicone valley and Hollywood Hills just to really test their medal.

The only thing missing here, are the secret gas chambers, the ovens, the mass graves, etc.

He’s already checked off two of the boxes, separating families and planning to put people on trains to the camps. Don’t tell me Trump wouldn’t like to finish the job,

Dude, you have a really bad case of it.  You sound absolutely BARKING.

I think this would create a Merkel effect... They would welcome the illegals and help them out, for over a year. Then as things started to go downhill, there would first be defensiveness, and blaming of others by those in leadership. Then the people would start rising up. But... the process will be 2+ years. We'd not see the political will change till well after the 2020 election.

Stop already with the "separating families" hysteria.  We separate families, natural born American citizen families, in every county with a jail or juvenile detention center.  It's been the norm since before the country was born.  Every time someone is arrested, they are separated from their family.  If they are convicted they are separated even longer.  Most of the time it is for infractions that are far less premeditated than a 2000 mile assault on the border.  If children misbehave in a serious way, we don't call them crimes, they are separated and sent to juvenile detention, sometimes for the duration of their childhood.  No one ever protests either of these situations.  When parents mistreat their children, usually much less severely than dragging them on a 2000 mile foot journey with no provisions, we separate families for the protection of the children.  So none of what you are hyping as inhumane is rare or reserved just for illegal immigrants.  It happens every day all over the US.  Crossing the border illegally is a crime, that's why it's called illegal.  The people doing it know this.  Don't blame Trump for enforcing laws that were on the books long before he came into office.

Let's not forget the fact that we can only take these migrants at their word when they say a kid is theirs. They might be being trafficked. That's worth a separation to sort out the details.

I haven't seen any real negative reaction from the Democrats.  Do you mean they aren't celebrating this like it's a victory.

Not to pretend to mindread all Democrats, but I think they let emotions get the better of them.  They might have been  thinking  "Here are these people living in our community.  They work with us, they shop with us their kids go to school with us.  We have known them for years.  Now the Federal government wants to round them up and deport them.  We have to let ICE do their job,  but we don't have to rat out our neighbors so we will not cooperate by turning people in or holding them unless they have committed a city or state crime.."

They might not have been planning  for such a massive influx of undocumented immigrants under the current President.

But of course their philosophy is wrong isn't it?  As any good conservative knows, there is no excuse for letting personal loyalties, or feelings, or state, or city, laws get in the way of a strong federal  enforcement,  even if it requires tanks and the National Guard.  Federal Laws must be obeyed.   People that hold those beliefs to the contrary should be ridiculed and punished shouldn't they?

Except they aren't letting ICE do their job. What about the mayor who warned of an ICE raid? She should be prosecuted.

Of course... all conservatives are evil....you need to stop pretending you aren't biased....pffftttt

By the way, you'll never manipulate me into not thinking that Americans and American laws come first. Conservatives/Republicans by and far donate more to charity than Left/Democrats.
