Man Throws 5 Yr Old At Mall Of America

I don't think racism is involved. He probably scared most of them. From his earlier arrests, it doesn't seem he had a very smooth approach. Besides, most women wouldn't just go off with someone who tries to pick them up at a mall. Smart ones wouldn't.

The title of this thread is a bit confusing.   When I first read it, I thought a guy threw a child towards the Mall.

It sucks that this happened.   This guy needs a bullet to the head.

It's a tough slope to go down to prevent these things.   The guy had a record. So there is that, but I don't know if locking him up in an asylum should have been done.   If so, for how long?    Who decides this?   What are the criteria to make the decision?

I guess the way to limit this stuff is better treatment.

At best this guy has proved that his mental illness renders him unfit to exist with the rest of normal humanity and he should be locked up in one kind of institution or the other for the remainder of his life.

Landon is showing real signs towards recovery. He remains in extensive care and has a long road ahead of him but his tests are coming back with good results.

The little boy is now alert and conscious and out of critical condition. The parents are hoping he will be released from the hospital in June. He continues to need some surgery.

On the one hand, you have people who are mentally ill and can't afford their meds...on the other, you have mentally ill people who refuse them.

Something should have been done before this happened.

Very happy the little boy is doing better.  The trauma will stick with him for the rest of his life I'm afraid.

Throws a kid off a balcony because he can't get a girlfriend.  People like this don't deserve to be free.

This is just a horrific thing to happen. A 5 yr old boy was thrown over the 3rd level railing to the 1st floor at the Mall of the Americas by a 24 yr old man who started running and was caught by either bystanders or police. The man has quite a background of arrests. Again, mental illness. He knew to run though. This child has life-threatening injuries and may not survive. My thoughts and my wishes go out to this little boy and his family. I can't imagine what they are going through.

Hello everyone! Some great positive news to be able to share with you from Landen's family:

The Lord is good, and we are thankful. We are happy to report that our son is no longer in intensive care and has been moved to an inpatient, physical rehab program at another hospital to help him continue to heal and focus on the next phase of his recovery.
There is hard work ahead! And, our beautiful boy has endured much already, but he is strong and his spirit remains vibrant. We continue to be eternally grateful for every prayer, every act of kindness and the love this world has show us throughout this journey. Thank You
