WWII US bomb detonated in German river

"An American bomb weighing 250kg (550lbs), which had been dropped during World War II, was detonated by specialists in the River Main, footage filmed in Frankfurt on Sunday, April 14, shows."

Wow, that had to have been tricky.    Visibility looked poor in that river.

In average, approx 5.000 unexploded bombs, and thousands of tons of ammunition, are found here in Germany per year. A number of construction workers/dredger operators died already while doing their job. Its an endless mess and experts say that it will still take generations to get the soil clean here.
