"The first palace built by Rome's emperor Nero has reopened to the public after an extensive renovation.

Domus Transitoria, built in the First Century AD, was criticised even by Nero's contemporaries for its opulence, with inlaid marble, frescoed walls and ceilings, and trimmings of gold and precious gems.

It even contained 50 communal toilets that were used by slaves and workers at the luxurious palace, which can now be viewed by visitors."

Nero wasn't really the b****** he's been made out to be. The man would have rather been an actor than a Caesar. He brought a lot of the arts to Rome. He also want even in the city when it was set ablaze and went above and beyond to help those in need after.

****ty ruler, though.
