Having previously worked in the IC and having dealt with hundreds of FISA applications there are people that are going to end up in prison over this if our laws and regulations are upheld.  That is a big IF, and more likely we won't see anything come of it.  People will be retired or shuffled around to other positions within their "alphabet agencies" for following orders and those who were behind all this have already been been fired, reassigned or resigned specifically within the FBI and DOJ.  What is now happening is an attempt to find out just how far up to totem pole this all goes.  Under any other administration the public would never see signs of any outcome because at the end of the day the D's and R's are all one and the same role-playing a public facade and ultimately trying to save their own asses and those of other politicians regardless of party.  Under Trump? Well it's going to be interesting and we already see top Dem's turning on each other or trying to shift the narrative with the willful help of the media.

 

As for the IC and law enforcement being mostly Republican, it's very true.  Your average agent/analyst/officer lean right but what you see is that for reasons I don't fully understand is that those in leadership positions lean left and lean more left the longer they are removed from actual work and have only managerial/leadership type of duties.  Education  plays a part in it.  The majority of civilian employees within the IC have a college degree but the higher levels of leadership will require first a masters and then potentially a PHD depending on what field you are in and for reasons I wont speculate on, we know that with higher levels of education comes statistically with a shift towards left leaning personal politics.

Well in this case it was Russian interference in the 2016 election.  Trump wouldn't be having half his problems if he were truly "Exonerated" instead of "Hah, you couldn't get enough evidence to indict or convict".

Think his current list of crimes being investigated:

Bank fraud and insurance fraud courtesy of his former lawyer's testimony.

Campaign finance violations courtesy of his former lover Stormy Daniels.

Tax fraud/evasion courtesy of his "I didn't lose a billion dollars.  I am smart and fudged my tax numbers!" public statement.

On second thought, I'm feeling lazy, here's some links with all the legal/criminal proceedings he still faces:

This declassification, with the full support of the DoJ (Barr) is a new wrinkle.  I think everything depends on Barr and his willingness to take the slings and  arrows.

Suit yourself.  I you want to believe he did nothing wrong and all the evidence is bogus, then feel free.  You will just get a blank look from me though when you can't understand why he is under so much investigation.  The primary reason I haven't been posting much on this topic lately is the fact that the events that happen as time passes have been a much more effective truth stick than anything I have said.

I may not like Clinton, but there is one thing I have to give her credit for.  She took this for over a decade with a straight face whereas Trump is bawling like a baby after barely two years. I've heard so much "coup, coup" in the last month, I swear I walked into a flock of pigeons.

A former head of the Federal Election Commission said much the same about his payoff to Daniels, along with several other lawyers.

We'll see about any banking violations, but those would apply to the corporation typically, and wouldn't involve Trump personally.

And Clinton was lightly put through the wringer compared to what Trump's been up against. Trump's been facing unprecedented attacks, investigations and adversity while Clinton, except for maybe one, just one long day of questioning on Benghazi, has been treated with kids gloves within a moat of eggshells.

The payoff to Daniels was cheap. Paula Jones cost Clinton $850,000. People remember Monica Lewinsky but not her.
