An anti-poaching ranger in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has described his striking selfie with a pair of endangered mountain gorillas as "just another day in the office".

The gorillas look like they are standing there, bored shirtless, with their hands in their pockets!

I've already seen that picture posted a number of times on the Internet. However, I was sure that it was humans in gorilla costume. I'm a bit surprised to here read that they are actual gorillas, I'm not sure that I completely believe it.

lol I was just going to say, they all look super bored. That might be the 10th try for a good selfie and the gorillas just annoyed at this point.

It looks suspiciously like people dressed up as gorillas for photos. Not entirely convinced by this. The faces look like masks.

I don't know why some people think it's fake. Gorillas are known to stand and walk upright.

These are men in suits. Gorillas cannot stand upright looking like humans the way these do. Also their legs are too long for their bodies.

'Gorilla selfie': Congolese ranger explains how he snapped viral photo

Because the gorillas have such close contact with rangers and caretakers from a young age, they learn to imitate humans.

“In terms of behaviour, they like to mimic everything that is happening, everything we do,” Shamavu said.

Poor things really. That's sad. Maybe I'm wrong to think these are just men in suits (to me their posture and physical dimensions look unnatural for gorrillas) but I absolutely accept the possibility that I might be wrong and would be the first to support these orphans if I was convinced that is what they are.
