Still Waters Posted April 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2019 A woman from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who was seriously injured in a traffic accident in 1991 has made a seemingly miraculous recovery after emerging from a 27-year-long coma. Munira Abdulla, who was aged 32 at the time of the accident, suffered a severe brain injury after the car she was travelling in collided with a bus on the way to pick up her son from school. Omar Webair, who was then four, was sitting in the back of the vehicle with her, but was left unscathed as his mother cradled him in her arms just before the accident. Omar has opened up about the accident and about his mother's progress following years of treatment in an interview with the UAE-based newspaper The National. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-48020481 https://www.thenational.ae/uae/health/emirati-woman-wakes-up-from-coma-after-almost-30-years-1.851923
Kaikou Posted May 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2019 Best of luck to the two of them. There's no way that this will be an easy journey back to a sense of normality. I just hope they get to spend the next few years adjusting to a new life with as few complications as possible.

Apparently she lapsed BACK into a coma upon being told that she is STILL not allowed to drive ! Edited May 12, 2019 by RoofGardener

The stpry doesnt quite add up though. The child was in the backseat. But he was unscathed because she cradled him in her arms just before the accident? I guess it's obvious why there was an accident.
