"African swine fever has now spread to all parts of China. That's after the island province of Hainan reported its first case of the disease."

"In almost 40 years of analyzing commodity markets, Arlan Suderman says he has never witnessed an industry-jolting event as dramatic as the contagion spreading across China's hog farms."

Business Article at the NZ Herald: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=12225880

"China raises about half the world’s pigs, and the spread of African swine fever is causing huge disruption to the supply of pork in the country. Financial services firm Rabobank estimated that up to 200 million pigs – nearly half the number in China – could be culled or die from the disease during the epidemic, saying there was not enough pork in “the whole world combined” to fill the potential supply shortfall."

Yeah, we heard about it over here in Iowa.  I know it's heartless, but the pig farmers around here and looking at it as an opportunity to regain what was lost with the China trade war if the negotiations turn positive.

Perhaps it’s time to capitalize on the wild pig problem in the southern states.

LOL. it reminds me of Mad Cow disease. remember that? well i invited my sister over for my world famous spagbol and she declined on the grounds that she doesn't eat beef anymore even though we're half a world away from Britain. Told her best not to come over so she could be the only one in our family to survive. Our gene's must endure you know. She thought about it, came over, and joined us all in our last supper.
