Just reflect on the words of this great Man...sent to defeat evil...and he did...but only for it to spring up once again in Rome...what you call "hypothesis" others call reality and yet others call impossible...similar to the Man on the moon...anything organic exposed to the sun's gamma rays disintegrates...and in space there is no combustion...

Opus Magnus Posted May 12, 2019 #58 Share Posted May 12, 2019 (edited) My guess would be that the vision appears there due to the fact that the culture was young in Christianity. The wine had just began to ferment so to say and was ripe for a vision of Mary. As Jesus says in the gospel, "No man puts new wine into an old wineskin or it would burst." So, I guess with that logic you'd only get one early one the first time it ferments. Mark 2:22 Edited May 12, 2019 by Opus Magnus

One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain. 24The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?” 25He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? 26In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.” 27Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. 28So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” The visions were made for a sober mankind, not imbibers of fermented logic. Who did He have contact with? Actually, I think that’s a valid and interesting question. My opinion— and that’s worth little enough — is that if it happened at all, they probably went to the burgeoning Jewish community at Alexandria. I assume there’s some manner of Christian mythology relating to it, but it’s something I’ve never looked into. —Jaylemurph
