the13bats Posted May 17, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 17, 2019 about 25 years back to relax i went fishing daily in the late afternoon until after dark when it was cooler, and i thought i knew most of the fish in these waters, in central Florida there are so many non native species from people dumping their fish tanks into a lake, so one day it was sprinkling on and off very humind and i was wading in about foot deep, i knew there were gators in this lake but i was in the open, my mind drifted, just dreamy enjoying myself. then a get bumped on the leg hard by a huge nasty looking prehistoric monster, it basically looked like a cross between a sturgeon and plecostomus about 4ft, it got as scared as i did and took off, im not sure what it was but its some known species or a hybrid, like the peacock bass. the Alaska guy just might find some cool creatures maybe get lucky and find one still unknown....but a "beast" lets wait and see. 4 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

the13bats Posted May 17, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2019 dynamite fishing....i saw a fellow using those sinking m80 looking firecrackers trying to stun nile perch, it wasnt working but the way you felt the muffled boom through the ground and the flash underwater was way cool. Loggers I used to know called those "DuPont Spinners" Quarter sticks used for stump blowing sometimes helped a hungry logger out to feed his family. It'd be interesting if it was a sturgeon, as well, because sturgeon don't live that far north. If it was a sturgeon, it'd be the most northern population ever.
