"An ex-CIA officer was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison for revealing military secrets to China and potentially seeking to expose human assets who were once his responsibility.

"Kevin Mallory, 62, was found guilty back in June on charges of spying for China. U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III handed down the sentence which is less than the life sentence as sought by prosecutors but double what the defense requested.

"The former intelligence officer was convicted under the Espionage Act for providing classified information to Chinese handlers in exchange for $25,000."

You can get 70yrs for robbing a bank but only 20yrs for betraying your country.  It's a mad world, is it not.

Yeap.

Furthermore, what sentences got bankers/CEOs for turmoil back in 2008? As far as I know - 0.

Man, he turned traitor for a measly $25k?  I wonder how messed up his life must have been for him to sell out so cheaply.

This has got me thinking.  When I was in the military, they did routine background and financial checks for us to maintain our clearance and our personnel readiness program.  If you owed any debt or had anything that can make you subject to compromise, you lost your clearance.

One would think that in this information age that this rule would be even more stringent and monitoring would occur of people who left for a duration of time till their knowledge became obsolete. I mean seriously, we live in an age where foreign powers could potentially have complete databases on important figures and electronically monitor/probe them for vulnerabilities.   I'd hate for a situation where the former head of the CIA was one family medical emergency from selling out to the Chinese for instance.

I get it that humans are flawed, but some things are so important that we should account for that.

exposing Chinese human assets...?   Sound familiar?

Our gal Hilary exposed 18 Chinese spies that were executed. Eighteen of them!!   But, uh..... Hilary is a protected deep state asset.
