bison Posted May 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) Artificial Intelligence can now predict problems within a fusion reactor that may disrupt the energy-releasing process. Using neural networks and parallel processing, the computers learn from their mistakes, and improve their performance, over time. The hope is that in the future A.I. programs will not only predict problems, but control the adjustments of fusion reactors, so as to correct instabilities before they can become serious . If disruptions to the fusion process can be avoided, it may allow reactors to function continuously, and with greater efficiency. This is all in service of eventually making hydrogen fusion a commercially practical source of electrical power.
