Tourists make Hadrian's Wall collapse

• Tourists have made a section of Hadrian's Wall collapse by climbing on top of it
• Visitors are standing on the historic World Heritage site so they can take selfies
• A whole 10ft section of the wall has collapsed at Steel Rigg in Northumberland
• A local claimed that he had even seen families standing on the historic landmark

Given that the wall is leaning away from the collapsed stoned it is hard to see how some of those stones managed to fall so far away from it. Walls usually collapse in the direction in which they lean or they bulge and slump. It such circumstances the only force acting on the stones is gravity and they fall vertically under their own weight. It might be possible for them to roll if they were round in shape but these are not.

The article does say 'that it is not clear whether the damage is caused by people climbing on the wall.'

After Brexit and the next Scottish Independence vote, Hadrian's Wall will be rebuilt (at its original height) by the Scottish National Party.

Looks like the whole section tipped over at the base and and flung them outward. The furthest away look pretty rounded over to me but even so, with sufficient momentum you can still get a good roll out of some unlikely shapes.
