I read the idea of Satan as a powerful, evil opponent of God arose through the contact of Judaism with Zoroastrianism during the Babylonian Exile? 

In older myth the opponent of Yahweh was Leviathan and it's speculated that in earlier version of the creation myth Yahweh killed Leviathan during the creation process.

That's right because the adjudication of Lucifer has begun and we're all seeing the spiritual and political squirming going on in the world today as the result. And the UB is provided for us to know about the details of how the Lucifer rebellion has, and still is impacting all our lives.

TBH I find the development of Jewish and (in turn) Christian mythology very fascinating. I've read bits here and there. But I should really look whether there's some serious academic literature about the beginnings and origins of those myths.
