Donkey gives birth to UK's only living twins

A donkey has given birth to Britain's only known living twins who have been named after notorious gangsters the Kray twins.

John Stephenson, 77, was left stunned when his donkey Violet unexpectedly gave birth to the healthy foals on his farm, in Stanley, County Durham, over the weekend.

He had no idea she had been expecting twins, an incredibly rare occurrence in donkeys and has named them Ronnie and Reg, after the Krays,  crime lords in London during the 1950s and 1960s.
