I appreciate the way Pope approaches his investigations, analysis and communicates his information.

Respect.

I'd say, if anything, that the exact opposite is true.

Billions of people with high quality cameras in their pocket and none can provide a single decent picture of a UFO.

With an estimated 100 Billion galaxies in the observable Universe, it seems overly quaint to assume "we are alone"

Belief that UFO's are aliens has been mainstream fringe for decades. Really, since Roswell. At least in the US. It's the least 'offensive' fringe theory out there. Tons of movies, books, tv shows, etc. have been devoted to the subject over the decades. That's pretty mainstream.

Even human intelligence agencies with human tech can triangulate mobile phones, and you assume that space-faring civilisations that have the ability to get here won't be able to? You can bet your biffy that they have an exact map of all the phones in live 3D mapping. And in case you haven't noticed, they have always kept a low profile. Surely you realise that if they had wanted open contact it would've happened by now. No, they do not want humans to have indisputable evidence. I would even postulate that if we were to accidentally obtain such, they would simply use time travel technology to remove that from the timeline. But to assume that in spite of their obvious preference to keep a low profile we will catch them out with... mobile phones... you would have to be a pretty superficial thinker.

Not necessarily. Look at how much life has evolved on earth vs. how much sentient, technological life. Look at all the things that had to line up just right to make earth as habitable as it is. Perhaps most importantly, look at how few years (compared to the age of the universe) we humans have had the type of technology to send/detect signals from space, and the technology to even venture into space. Lastly, look at distance. Detecting a civilization in our own galaxy is hard enough. Detecting a civilization in another galaxy is basically impossible for us right now.

It's not a question of 'if' but of 'when', IMO. It's possible that some technological civilizations have developed, but are gone now, and that other civilizations haven't developed yet.

I've always thought of that. Some are building pyramids while others could be at the interstellar point. A great book I've read is Michio Kaku's Physics of the Impossible: A Scientific Exploration into the World of Phasers, Force Fields, Teleportation, and Time Travel.

I'm sure we're not alone.
Are any lifeforms, let alone intelligent and sapient ones. living close enough for humanity to ever meet them? :(

That's part of the reason even though it maybe mainstream it will continue on to being a pseudoscience....

nick pope earns a nice little bundle at this.... it's the likes of nick bloody pope who keep this BS fueled with nothing more than stories that <some> believe without real evidence & facts.

people like nick bloody pope cannot produce facts, never have done- just books, tv interviews/ documentaries & lectures on nothing!:sleepy:

i can do something the likes of nick pope have failed to do for the past 80+ years:

produce a fact! here it is===== there are NO FACTS-- that's a fact!

case rested;)

UFOs went mainstream? hum,

ive noticed a lot of ufologists pope might be one earning a living off the subject had to gear things up a bit, prosiac doesnt sell, thats nothing new the "mainstream" isnt much into jumping "its a UFO it must be aliens," it sounds too silly , we have the fringe who think every UFO is an alien craft but they are very much minority,

sure a lot is happening, all kinds of new flying toys so that means all kinds of wild flying secret weapons that you want to know what your enemy's have without them learning what you have.

Here, I will help advance this Ancient Aliens talking head a little further by shamelessly posting his website.

  • 4 weeks later...

The politically correct term is UAP, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, UFO having such negative connotations. If there's something there unknown to science, I 'm more than willing to be persuaded with hard evidence...………..(crickets chirping then silence...…..a door slams, somewhere.)
