Does "p***sd" mean the same thing in australia as in england (drunk) or as in the U.S. (angry)?  AND I have seen writing from a lot of Australians who think climate change is real, even one of your politicians commented on in it in relation to the fires.  But I realize you are fixated on the rising sea levels.  Too narrow minded to include anything else, is what it seems.  You say the same thing over and over and over and over.

ScoMo made a mistake, since he knows from tidal readings in the Fiji island grounps that it is nonsense. Too narrow minded, lol, or in other words if sea levels are not rising then it is BS!

And Aussies, voted against gung-ho climate action, some more than others, but they will wise up, the rest will join a flat earth group.

And p....ed means annoyed.

Saying the same thing over and over, sure, after 10-20+ tries it may sink in?

But enough shop talk, this just in, apparently climate change has cancelled Christmas....

I hope that l am on his Naughty list, lol, who takes crap like this seriously l couldn't stop laughing.

Yes, the colder it gets the more the f...wits bleat climate emergency!

And the more the pensioners die, but that is ok, considering the p***weak, UN track record of failed predictions.

The nutters might get off of the junk data, and shiny websites, but the body count is rising.

Yes, insane, and this young member of the Greens, is terrified, l bet after his Green nutjob boss, brainwashed him to the hilt before letting him loss at question time.

Climate change used to be Stupid, Angry and back to Stupid, now, (as l have witnessed elsewhere) it is now, Stupid, Angry, aggressive, and back to Stupid again.

Ignore all evidence, and just go on an emotional bender, the young will rise up, lol, no, they will wise up, and kick the Green party out of parliament!

You don't buy into the idea that getting colder and colder in some areas is a concern?  Is there a link between a more energetic atmosphere due to heating and shifting weather patterns?  Both colder and hotter, more and less rain can happen as wind patterns shift.

As for the rest of it, when pensioners die of cold or heat as is also happening, it is not OK.   Pensioners die because we let them. It is called greed and disregard for others

Robert Murray made the same argument, coal plants should receive subsidies because people will freeze if they shut down.  Here in America, we do not shut down a coal plant until a natural gas generating plant is online and ready.  I am sure our antipodal brothers and sisters are every bit as smart.

Jeez, he doesn't even care that there are 100 fires burning on the east coast of his country.  He is only fixated on sea levels next to his house.

No, l don't buy colder meaning the planet is warming since it is insane. What happens when we get less colder winters???? It is still planet warming, as l said insane.

We blamed the jet stream for the mini ice age in the 70's and blame it again for the opposite, anything to sell papers and give the faithful something to use their right hand on.

And it is also called insanity, or it is a well know fact that closing coal plants and replacing them with wind/solar dramatically drives up electricity prices. Then pensioners living in harsh environments like the US and Canada, either burn books, or freeze to death, or starve they have that option.

AU has disconnected over 100k or households over the last couple of years, and even with our minus -3 at worst winters at night our poor are dying also. The f...witted faithful should releaze this and stop closing them down, but no, climate emergency which equals no brains at all, and they keep doing it.

Sea levels are not rising, and going down slightly, but still climate emergency, we would make a 1.3% global difference if we went back to the stone ages tomorrow, still climate emergency, banning choking coal to China, would mean they use their own, (which is durtier or less efficent) still blah blah.

Add climate emergency to this cult and you get wall to wall stupid.

Yes, when the Liberals won SA, after labor destroyed it with 47% w/s, they built a fast online, gas plant, that shores up the mess by 10%, Our d....head premier has almost banned gas exploration in our state, and Bass Straight is showing signs of depletion. So what can we do, build a pipeline to Queensland, and pay a lot more for it,...this is seriously stupid.

And why are you not replacing them with natural gas plants?  Are you suggesting that you folks are shutting down power plants without a replacement?  Are you saying that gigawatt  production is suffering a net drop, that you are not replacing the generating capacity?  Well that would be stupid wouldn't it.

What is the problem?  Australia has coal and oil resources  https://www.apga.org.au/gas-facts-and-figures

Australia has abundant supplies of natural gas, both offshore and onshore, enough for more than 50 years, based on current production. ... Oil, which is mostly used in the transport sector, is the largest provider of energy in Australia with 2125 petajoules consumed in 2016-17.

Generating electricity
Gas-fired power generators can be ramped up and ramped down more quickly than coal-fired generators which makes them ideal for meeting peak demand as well as for providing baseload power. The facilities required for these generators use less land than that required for a coal-fired power plant of a similar energy output and they need less time for construction. Carbon emissions from gas-fired power generation are about 50 to 60 per cent lower than from coal-fired power.

In 2016-17, gas-fired generators provided 50,459 GWh of electricity in Australia. The amount of electricity provided by gas-fired generation has plateaued in recent years. Around 20 per cent of Australia’s electricity was generated by natural gas in 2016-17. Natural gas is used to generate electricity in all States in Australia, and it produces most of the electricity to meet peak demand.

Use in households
Natural gas provides almost as much energy as electricity to Australian homes. In 2016-17, natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas provided households with 181 petajoules of energy. For the same period, households used 213 petajoules of electricity. More than 100,000 kilometres of transmission and distribution pipelines deliver natural gas safely and reliably to homes around the country which use the gas for heating their houses, their hot water and for cooking.

Providing energy in the region
Natural gas from Australia is exported to many countries in the region, mainly Japan (the largest importer of Australian gas), China, and South Korea, but also to Taiwan, Malaysia, India and other places via spot markets in the region. In 2016-17, Australia exported over 52 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG), more than double the 25 million tonnes exported two years earlier (2014-15). Australia is the second largest LNG exporter in the world, second only to Qatar, and is on track to become the world's largest exporter as additional LNG plant capacity comes on stream.

Why are you not converting aging coal power plants to new natural gas ones as they become too old to keep in repair?

Yes, it is stupid and our premier is going just that. He is almost killing investment or not searching for natural gas in our state, to keep his greenie halfwits happy, and his own demented views on 50% renewables by 2030. SA owned by the Liberals, has a fast track gas plant, that can start within a few mintutes when w/s fails. That is the answer, and getting rid of our premier, which l pray will be 2022. At present we either buy it at inflated prices from other states, or enjoy the darkness. We also have a small army of deisel gen, which is pretty useless, and is just as bad as coal, more stupid.

We are closing coal plants down for wind/solar, an army of backup generators, (that isn't enough) and buying it interstate, but Vic has the Bassline that we can only use in emergencies, since they are worried that their little power cord will get damaged if we use it too much...pfft.

ScoMo is also pushing investment so we will get the Snowy Mountians mark 2, asap, which is hydro and will shore up the loss of Hawelwood, at least til our d...head, closes the next one,...l pray that Victorians, aren't phazed by the shiny building everything that moves shiny object, and votes Liberals soon.

Yep, forget about facts, and dance around it, so your silly little Flat Earth Climate Religion is intact. The evidence keeps piling up, and the faithful, ignore or attack, but Never show solid evidence to its rebuttel, just evidence that falls apart.

NZ, are well on the way to a Recession, to save the planet apparently, (just ignore Germany in recession) but the faithfuls ability to ignore the obvious and keep going is infinite.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/money/104100512/being-cold-and-rationing-heating-is-now-normal-in-new-zealand?rm=m

And this is the result so far, 50% of households in New Zealand is rationing heating, since closing down coal and replacing it with wind/solar drives up prices and causes power blackouts. Children are becoming sicker, and no doubt pensioner mortality rates are climbing.

And if stupid is wrong and nothing happens in 2030, then she will have all of those pensioner death rates on her hands.

Yep, show the obvious to the faithful and you get deranged logic, instead of realizing what an expensive, deadly crock this all is.

But the faithful are always right, and can ignore the laws of physics, and anything else just so they can get off of the latest shiny, expensive BS, site citing the latest crock.....

Unless they are freezing in their house, then l guess they wouldn't give a ....ck!

A pity l like that airline, although Virgin is also run by a nutter.

ScoMo, finally is getting sick of these morons, (Andrew Bolt label) and speaking out, but the faithful are so brainwashed, indoctrinated and so forth, they just keep going, and don't listen.

So if the world goes back to the stone ages, the fires will magically disappear, forget about it being a hot day, and a s....t load of logs to burn, (thanks to the same morons) eventhough as our prime minister has said, we are too small to do anything, and the whole world going back to the stone ages, will make a p.....s all difference to a raging fire in a forest, (wind, temp, and fuel loads make the difference).

And SA, the most f....up state we have in AU, or 47% wind/solar, also had fires, duh!

This crap is up there with, using a BS Climate Change site, to dispute no sea level rise over 146 years!

But the faithful are always right, or just becoming more and more insane, in order to cling into this rubbish?

Here is an article about the "ice age" in the 1960s and early 1970s:  https://www.sciencenews.org/article/50-years-ago-scientists-puzzled-over-slight-global-cooling?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=latest-newsletter-v2&utm_source=Latest_Headlines&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Latest_Headlines

Seems it was all about sulphate pollution.

Like it or not, sulphate pollution is man-caused AND it depressed global temps for about 15 years.  That meets the definition of Anthropogenic global change.  Even though, it depressed temps.

Doug

P.S.:  the colder, stormier winters we are now seeing occur only in the northeast US, North Atlantic and Europe.  The Southern Hemisphere still has lots of warm weather to offset that, including a lot of hot air coming from Australia.

I believe the flat earth concept was believed in Old Testament times, as there is a description of it there.

The ancient Greeks knew the earth was a globe and even measured its size, based on the depth to which shadows penetrated in two different wells on June 21.

Columbus and his sailors knew the earth was round.  The story that the sailors believed it was flat is fiction.  Columbus was the first navigator to use square rigging in a major sea voyage.  Square rigs can only sail to within 45 degrees of the wind, while the lanteen sails can come to within 30 degrees of it.  The sailors though that a square-rigger would never be able to sail upwind and so they would never get home.  But Columbus had discovered the Great Triangle and knew that to get home, he had only to sail northward into the westerlies.

The problem for tmcom and global warming is the same as for the Greeks and a round earth.  The Greeks could measure the size of the earth using math and geometry.  We measure global warming the same way.  But if you are mathematically challenged, neither makes any sense to you.

Little hard for Mickey Mouse to endorse something discovered 32 years before he was invented.  You don't even have a basic grasp of cartoon characters, let alone science.

You are missing a fantastic chance to challenge the accuracy of Fiji sea level rise.

Fiji only has two tidal gauges:  Suva (1972-present) and Lautoka (1992-present).  At best, only 48 years of records are available.  Suva has been moved three times; thus, its records are discontinuous and have to be broken into segments.  It overlaps with Lautoka by about two months, so there is a weak link between the two.  Both stations are located on heavy harbor constructions resting on soft sediment and susceptible to compaction (which would show a greater than true sea level rise).  Suva's last segment (1989-2017) shows 10 years of relative stability, followed by 10 years of rapid rise, followed by 4 years of rapid fall, suggesting an interaction between sediment subsidence and sea level.  In short, the Fiji records aren't consistent or accurate.  And you missed that detail.  There are plenty of legitimate problems with climate science.  Your opinions would carry some weight if you addressed those rather than just ranting.
